With beautiful views of Glastonbury Tor and the unmistakable Somerset countryside, these stylish lodges are a luxurious retreat in a superb countryside location. They're just outside Wells with its 13th century Cathedral and stunning medieval Bishop's Palace, and close to the village of Wookey where several traditional pubs serve local ales and good food.

Indulge in a pamper pack, book a beauty treatment or go for a lovely stroll in the surrounding countryside. You could play golf in Wells, take a balloon fight at Glastonbury, visit the ruins of Glastonbury Abbey set within 36 acres of parkland - or enjoy waterskiing, wakeboarding and jet-skiiing at Middlemoor Water Park in Woolavington.

The Hideaway sleeps up to four people - it's luxurious and contemporary and has one spacious king size double room with a TV and ensuite walk-in shower. There's also a twin room and a family bathroom with overhead shower. Patio doors lead to a large decking area with garden furniture and there's a barbecue on the lawn just adjacent to the lodge.

Cheddar Gorge, Wookey Hole Caves and the Roman Baths are all within easy reach of your lodge. Weston-Super-Mare is full of family attractions - the miniature railway, the sea life centre and amusement arcades will keep you busy, not to mention the popular beach activities.

Our Top Tip
"The hard sand at Weston-Super-Mare beach makes it ideal for kite-buggying, mountain-boarding and land-sailing."

I ve put a 9 for cleanliness as some of the crockery in the cupboards was dirty, this was most probably due to previous occupants

The only things that let it down were the very steep stairs entering the lodge, and the parking was at the back of the lodge, so if you had heavy bags, it was a struggle. We know that it is a working farm, but the track to the lodge was awful.
But the view did make up for it. The lodge was comfortable, and had shelf space in the ensuite to store toiletries, which is uncommon, but to me means I can tidy things away. We hope we can return.

First class accommodation. These are very well appointed with proper fixtures and fittings and a step up from the caravan site type lodge. In a lovely location that is very quiet location with a great view over Glastonbury Tor with the evening sun setting over the patio/deck side of the Lodge. A great bonus is having wi-fi in the lodge although EE and 02 give good mobile coverage.
We also liked the light touch from the lodge manager (some places we've been feel like your being kept an eye on ) who was easily contactable by mobile phone and was impressed by the communication before the holiday receiving a letter to introduce Burcott Retreats and give detailed instructions for finding them and a contact number etc.
I should also mention the fantastic welcome pack we received which included useful basics such as tea, coffee, bread, butter, cheese and milk (brilliant if your a late arrival) and also a bottle of wine.
A real top draw holiday experience.

This is a really peaceful and lovely place to stay. The lodge was clean, well equipped, modern and homely. There are only 2 lodges on the field which was a pleasant surprise and as a result there is plenty of space to play football or Frisbee while admiring the beautiful views across to Glastonbury Tor.
Jeremy
Lovely holiday venue. Lodge looked brand new and vie of Glastonbury Tor was wonderful. Thoroughly recommend it.
Emily
