Fun Days Out in Powys

Treasure Island Fun Centre is situated in the Anglesey area of North of Wales and there is really no better place to take children on a rainy day. The fantastic all weather attraction features a huge array of slides, chutes, climbing frames, ball pools and mazes. Energetic kids can really let of steam while the grown ups can relax in the cafe with a drink and a snack. There are separate areas four younger children to play safely, so no one is left out of the fun.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

We always love staying at mill meadows - this is our 4th visit in 3 years; the refurbished buzzard lodge is stunning. The more powerful, walk-in shower was a very welcomed upgrade and overall we think this is by far the most luxurious stay we've had here and we can't wait to come back in May 2018. Thankyou again for a wonderful peaceful retreat.

Great location, lovely relaxing holiday.
Just what we needed after a hectic year .was beautifull lodge
Lovely quiet location, gorgeous views, hot tub bubbling away when we arrived. Clean, tidy, modern, and roomy. Log burner insanely hot, 1st load of logs included, can buy extra. Feeding the birds and squirrels from the decking 3ft from us was very cool. Would definitely go again to buzzard lodge.
We stayed at buzzard lodge Friday 8th december for 3 nights. On Thursday evening I received a call from Wendy saying that the forecast was for snow over the weekend & to bring anything we think we may need... just in case. Well we arrived on the Friday through a little snow and settled into buzzard lodge. Wendy has thought of everything you may need during your stay from nice wine glasses a kitchen that has everything you could need to dvds, jigsaws & books on birds so you can find out who your visiting feathered friends are (wendy puts out food for them in winter), a comfy bed & settee so just a lovely home from home but without the phone signal & Wi-Fi so total relaxation. Wendy called round to check we were ok on Friday & showed us how to use the hot tub (which is amazing) we walked to the local pub Saturday & chilled with the log burner on the evening... Then Sunday the snow came & kept coming... by evening we had over 10 inches... Wendy called round to check that we were ok even offering food from her freezer if we had run out, then Monday became dig out day, Wendy was out with spades & grit to try & clear the roads out to the main road.... after she'd cut down a tree that had fallen overnight blocking in her 4x4, in the end she towed two very relieved customers 2 miles to the main road, an absolute wonder woman, she went above & beyond what she needed to do. All in all it has been an amazing few days away & a little adventure, one for our memory bank. We will definitely be back as soon as we can but hopefully will be able to travel around & see a bit more of wales. Cannot recommend Mill Farm Meadows enough & especially buzzard lodge. Well done Wendy & thank you.
A lovely relaxing weekend in beautiful surroundings. Lodge is very comfortable and well equipped.
Stayed here a few times and have booked for next year great get away
We stayed for 4 nights in October and loved every minute of it. The lodge was perfect and the covered hot tub outside added to it. We didn't really have much contact with staff other than on arrival but they couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. It was obvious if any problem had arose they would have been quick to sort it for us.
ecxcellent 4 day break in buzzard lodge
As always peaceful and relaxing just perfect :)
We went for a quite relaxing break and this is what we got from the comfy beds to the amazing hot tub
