We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look". Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project. The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish! Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years. There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out. You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles. If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files. We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays. See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around. You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover. Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe. The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places. You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.
Needed some oven trays or dishes for oven
Perfect van and comfortable. Needs coat hooks! Wet coats because of the weather were a problem curtain rails had to take the brunt with coat hangers hanging from them! Not happy about this but we had no choice. Also hooks required in bathroom no-where to hang towels or robes.
Had a great relaxing time
Wonderful caravan, clean and homely.
One downside of where I was staying is the mattress of the double room - my partner could not sleep properly. Otherwise, she liked everything else.
Good value for money
Excellent caravan. Clean and tidy. Could have done with some bigger dishes and cooking utensils to accommodate a larger family
A fantastic site, caravan and a brilliant break! No more to said!
excellent spacious lodge. car had to be parked round the back near the gas tanks which was not a good idea. some light bulbs not working. some panelling coming off the wall. some lodges were tightly packed in, other parks are more spacious.
Beautiful clean spacious large living area very nice
Perfect for us as a family. Not quite enough glasses for us to drink from but that’s nit picking. Excellent location next to the brill playground and caravan was spot on!
Beautiful location, great access to the western lakes
Excellent time apart from weather but who can control that? Perhaps it would be too busy in the Summer season for us. Out of season it was terrific.
Large, clean, well equipped cabin
We had a fantastic Holiday.....
We had a lovely break at this site.
Wonderful setting for exploring the Lake District - especially the southern part of it. Everything is kept neat and tidy. Newly laid tarmac and shingled driveway. You can get into your caravan without stepping on the dirt/mud as the pathway is paved (important for cleanliness). I had been to some other caravan sites (operated by a different provider) in Europe where such facilities were had to come by.
The accommodation was very clean and comfortable. However I would not rate it as VIP standard. We opted for a hot tub this time instead of the sauna we have regularly chosen before and it was brilliant!
The site staff were extremely helpful and a special thanks to Lee.
Yes we would absolutely stay there again and recommend it to friends and family.
Could not fault it. Caravan was very clean and tidy. Enjoyed the peace and quietness and the views were great too. Good value for money would thoroughly recommend it.
Lovely place and good clean caravan.
Only minus was there wasn't a lot of cooking utensils. I wouldn't have dare use the frying pan old and rusty. Just an observation more than a criticism.
We had a fabulous time.
