Would absolutely visit again loved the place...Few things need sorting though.....NOT that these would stop us visiting....

Change the shower vertical bar so shower head can point down.

Change the actual shower head for a new one.

Put some chicken wire on the wooden steps, very slippery when wet.

WiFi was very week, try a 230v plug in booster, 4 can work from one sender in house, takes the WiFi from house to cabin via main elec line.

Toilet seat needs attention.

Apart from that...AWESOME place to stay

The values for money ignores this holiday was out of this world.
It is gorgeous settings and the lodge set were clean with everything and more you could need.
The linens and beds were beautiful and there was more than enough space for us.
My daughter was ill during the night and the staff were brilliant at helping us sort everything.

A few little minor details would make this 5 but at the price we paid it was outstanding.

Everything perfect. Only slight criticism was the road and car park in front of reception. It was potholed and in need of attention.

Scott, Wolverhampton
Date of stay: 2nd November 2018
A lovely break if you want to get off the grid and want to explore a stunning area of Scotland on a budget. Beats the noise and bustle of a standard caravan park but if you want an arcade and pool this is not for you. Lodge was very clean and well furnished. Electricity was on a meter and done on trust but was perfectly reasonable (£17 for 4 nights in Oct/Nov and we like the heating on!).

There are shops, take-aways and a supermarket in nearby Castle Douglas.
Darren, Langholm
Date of stay: 19th October 2018
Relaxing stay at a beautiful location, cabins clean and well kept but could do with some sort of information/welcome book in cabin to explain things such as hot water and heating and map of local walks in surrounding area.Hope to be back soon.

A superb tranquil & idyllic get away lodge! Situated in beautiful location, surroundings & a peaceful retreat from everything. Homely, yet modern and spotless interior with lush green vistas of Rhododendron bushes, grassy areas and a lovely walled garden to roam, literally steps away. Plenty of private parking and easy access to the nearby area for exploring the coastline.

The location of the lodge is beautiful. The grounds are gorgeous and you feel like you are a million miles away from anywhere. The lodge is about a 10 minute drive from shops. Our kids loved a day out at Carrick Beach, The Cocobean factory and the nearby fairy trail. We loved it and would definitely return.

Second year for us here ,we love the peace and stepping straight out on to the grass, wonderful wildlife and scenic walks. We saw a little deer each morning and even had Goldcrest visiting.Lodge is very comfortable and a central base for lots of things to do .We will be back next year.
Louise
Lovely lodge very private and quiet ideal for families and dogs was a really great weekend not far from local shops just so peaceful
Lesley
We stayed in Elm Lodge which is the first lodge through the gates at Queenshill. It was in a lovely position with a big grassed area behind it which was great for our Cockapoo to have a good run around. The lodge itself was clean and spacious. A nice sized lounge area and adequate kitchen. There was a notice saying that some unnecessary items had been removed but only having 2 each of all cutlery and plates, side plates and cups was a pain at times. This was the only fault we could find. The bedroom/dressing room was a very good size with a nice ensuite shower room. We would definitely return if visiting the area again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Elm Lodge.
Heather
Fantastic time away! Perfect to chill out with great and quiet surroundings, my wee dog loved running around! Will definitely be booking again in the future; lovely overall and thank you.
Susan
