We love this day out in Cumbria where you're encouraged to "take a fresh look". Some of the amazing animals you will get to see include the only Canadian Lynx in the UK and you will have the opportunity to help their Lynx Conservation Project. The Asian Fishing Cat is also well worth a look - these cats are known for diving under the water and catching fish! Other activities include fantastic flying displays and play areas for the little ones...
This is an award winning Lake District attraction and they have been operating cruisers on Lake Ullswater for over 150 years. There is no better way to explore the lakes than on water and you could even combine a cruise with a spectacular walk. For great days out in this region then this attraction is highly recommended and will appeal to couples as well as families. Corporate groups are also well catered for.
This is a museum and art gallery in one and will suit those looking for an educational and cultural day out. You can explore the fantastic art collection including Fine Art, Decorative Art and Textiles. If you love nature then this aspect of Tullie House will appeal. The museum holds large and important collections of zoological, botanical and geological material. And for lovers of history there is plenty to wet your appetite here. Tullie House collects a wide range of historic materials including objects, ephemera (printed material), photographs and associated information files. We think this museum and art gallery are excellent value for money as well.
Here at the Wildlife Oasis you can really get up close to the animals and experience a mix of exotic wildlife and hand son displays. See butterflies, birds and even bats flying around. You don't have to plan your visit according to weather either with the tropical hall and butterfly house undercover. Sunny days are ideal for some of the inhabitants however with the monkeys and Lemurs loving to sunbathe. The mission of Lakeland's Wildlife Oasis is to engender and foster an interest and appreciation of the natural world which, in our belief underpins wildlife conservation; and, where possible to contribute and encourage contribution to the conservation of wildlife and wild places. You know that you are helping with this mission if you choose to visit.
had a lovely weekend the lodge we stayed in was excellent definately return.
Lovely . could. Had lived in it. Only complaint could get sufficient hot water to have a bath.

Lovely setting by the lake. Ideal for a larger group.

Lovely lodges in an ideal spot.
The cabin was well maintained, well equipped, spacious and comfortable. We would recommend staying in a Superior Plus 3.
Martin, West Bromwich
We we're really pleased with how nice our lodge was, a real home from home.
I spent very nice Holiday in the south Lakeland and I strongly recommend anyone who wants to spend a lovely holiday to choose the south Lakeland lodge.

Apart from the heat, (which can't be helped and really don't want to complain about the little sun we get!) the country home was fantastic. Our daughter loved it, the kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed for self catering. Beds were very comfortable and overall decor was fine. Stairs leading up to the country home were very rickety which was a little unnerving as I was heavily pregnant but that didn't affect our enjoyment of the holiday one bit and would still recommend it.
What a brilliant 1st anniversary me and my husband had, the lodge was fab & clean and the views of the lake are gorgeous. We also had a full body massage in the spa which was amazing, the restraunt is lovely and food also. We also had brilliant weather for the whole week and explored the gorgeous lakes. Beautiful lodge; we were situated around the lake and had a fantastic view. We used the on site gym and swimming pool for a small fee. Only thing I would have liked to see is an on site shop selling essentials as we had to call to local supermarket just for milk and bread. Great food in resteraunt but took quite a while to get the food even though it wasnt that busy. Will definitely go again.
Love the park. The surroundings was lovely and it gave easy access to the surrounding areas. Good transport links. We used the railway station at carnforth several times.
Enjoyable holiday, would stay again.
Family holiday with two cabins, both spacious and well equipped, would definitely go again.
In April 2017 we spent 4 days in one of the homes over looking the lake, it is such a beautiful place. All attractions are within easy and short drive. The home itself is modern, clean and very comfortable, very satisfied with hospitality of the staff, on-site restaurant is also excellent food and service is 5 ***** I am sure we'll visit again in the future. Thank you all for a wonderful break.

The only thing disappointing were the charges to use the pool and leisure centre putty there was not a free pool. Otherwise brilliant break and would go back lodge was beautiful a real home from home. Thank you.
We didn't use the facilities so haven,'t marked them, everything else was excellent, expensive but worth it, perfect location for touring the Lakes and the Dales. Our favourite lodge is in a ideal situation on the lake and facing west so we got the sunset every evening. Sadly my daughter's health is deteriorating so may not be able to come next year. Weather not good this year but perfect the two previous ones.
Your directions need updating, after coming off the M6 at J35 A, turn right onto the A6 and then at the next roundabout take the 4th exit and the Leisure Village is immediately on your right, this is easier than the way you recommend. We have no photos (are not photogenic!)
Excellent location and facilities. Within easy reach of Windermere, Grange over Sands and many other south lakes beauty spots. The heritage railway centre at Carnforth is well worth a visit.
