Thorpe Forest Lodges
Thorpe Forest Lodges offer a peaceful and tranquil setting for your holiday with plenty of facilities on the doorstep. The children's play area and the activity centre mean your stay can be as relaxing or adventurous as you wish. If you like to get out and explore then take advantage of the ranger led walks and the nature trails as well as the cycle paths. After all of that exercise you could head to the shop and coffee lounge for a well deserved treat.
The Golden Oak Lodges make your stay at Thorpe Lodges even more special as they come with private outdoor hot tubs. For couples we love the Golden Oak Hideaway which has panoramic forest views and a luxury en suite with sunken bath. The log burning stove adds a romantic feel to the lodge and the bathrobes are a luxurious touch.
For a really unique holiday you could consider the Golden Oak Treehouse. Top of the range luxury lodge which sleeps up to 10. Highlights include the games console, log burning stove, luxury bedrooms and of course the outdoor hot tub. The unique feature of this lodge is the adventurer bridge which links the lodge to a treehouse with double bedroom and shower. An extra special hideaway.
The local area is ideal for exploring with the Norfolk Broads less than an hour away and the charming town of Bury St Edmunds close by. For fantastic shops and restaurants head to Norwich which is easily accessible.

The Welcome written in scrabble squares was just one of the little touches that meant so much. Amazing accommodation, the friendliest staff We have ever meet, nothing was a problem. Supper dog friendly, bowls of water and treats in the forest retreat. The best holiday we have had in years
The lodge was well equipped for our short stay and the kitchen had everything we needed. The hot-tub was very clean and checked every day. The area around the cabin was very well looked after and the cabins are very large with plenty of space.
The cabin wasn't the cleanest when we arrived but it wasn't enough to put a mark on our holiday at all. I would also have liked a little storage in the bedroom for clothes, there were no drawers or cupboards so we had to holiday out of our bags which may bother other guests.
The accommodation is superb. Much bigger than I expected. There was 6 Adults and a baby and there was more than enough room. The hot tub and outdoor dining area was the icing on the cake. Perfect.
Dirty when we arrived unfortunately. Sofa a little bit tatty and tv was slow and unresponsive. Also wifi issue was a massive inconvenience as some functions of the tv didn't work.
Holiday Period rare was extortionate
We have stayed for a short break with elderly parents and dogs for two years running and have found the site clean tidy and very peaceful..........we will be staying here again.
Absolutely wonderful break- really was perfect. Staff were so helpful and friendly, lodge had everything you could wish for and the surroundings were beautiful. Thank you
Couldn’t fault a single thing, the lodge was clean and tidy, perfect for children and dogs, we had a lovely family break.
Really enjoyed our weekend stay, enjoyed the luxury of a hot tub and a lovely BBQ on the decking. It would have been good if WiFi was included, you had to pay extra for this and I felt we had paid enough already (school holiday season, so not cheap!)
Location was good, we went to Go Ape at Thetford and took our bikes with us round the bike tracks there too. We took part in the rowing and kayaking at Forest Lodges, which was nice. There was a cafe on site, would have been nice to have a pool there and a few other activities for older children, but having said that it wouldn't have been so peaceful
Would definitely return, the lodge was lovely, spacious and clean with everything you need, but would try and avoid school holiday season purely due to the prices.
Loved the lodge, only trouble when we tried to book on site activities they were ALL fully booked, which meant we had to travel quite far to be able to find things to do with grown up teenagers. Due to the amount of driving needed to be done to find things to do wasn't as relaxing has had hoped for.
Been a few times now to the same result and can't fault anything enjoyed every moment of my little getaway, relaxing enjoyable! Well worth every penny
Such a beautiful lodge, surroundings are lovely. Enough room to play some ball games. A completely relaxing break which is exactly what we wanted
We had a wonderful time and the lodge was beautiful. The hot tub made it and the surroundings were just so peaceful and relaxing, just what we needed!! Staff were so helpful
We had never been to Thorpe Forest before but we have already decided that we will return. The area is extremely peaceful, which is what we wanted from our holiday. The staff were very helpful and the accommodation was clean and very adequate, especially as we have an 8 month old and 5 year old! We stayed in the Golden Oak lodge with the hot tub which was worth the upgrade from the lower priced lodge. It was extremely spacious and warm. The kitchen was well equipped and clean however, the cooker had no instructions on how to use so it was trial and error but we got there in the end! We enjoyed the freedom of being self catering and having no schedule. We used the lodge as a base and ventured out to different places including Great Yarmouth (1hr away). We did spend the extra ÂŁ40 for the wifi/entertainment package which helped on rainy days/mornings getting ready. There are plenty of supermarkets within a 10/15 minute drive and pubs/restaurants close by too.
All in all, it was a great break but a bit pricey (school holiday prices!) but would return if booked in advance.
