Fun Days Out in Yorkshire Moors and Coast

Jorvik Viking Centre

Jorvik Viking Centre is a fun and educational attraction offering visitors the chance to learn all about the Viking-Age city of Jorvik. Thanks to the Archaeologists from York Archaeological Trust the amazing houses, workshops and backyards of the Viking-Age city of Jorvik are on display and give a clear insight to the way of life all those years ago.  The site aims to offer an interactive experience with the state of the art time capsule and the blacksmith's furnace being the top attractions.

Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary
If you are enjoying a lodge break in the Yorkshire Moors and Coast then a day trip to the Scarborough Sea Life and Marine Sanctuary highly recommended. This centre is one of the regions most popular attractions and is educational as well as fun. Visitors will enjoy a journey beneath the waves, meeting many strange, beautiful and fascinating creatures of the deep. As well as mighty sharks and beautiful rays guests can get up close to some more common creatures including star fish and can also meet the otters, seals and penguins at feeding time. The site also has children's play area and picnic tables as well as a restaurant and souvenir shop. Family tickets cost 46.80 but the Tourist Information Centres in Scarborough, Whitby or Filey often offer fantastic discounts.

Lovely relaxing break. Shame the licenced tea room was closed would have made a great central venue. Sorry unable to comment on tea room facilities for this reason.

Amazing place
We had a wonderful relaxing break for 3 nights. We stayed in Oak lodge it was beautiful and clean, and so comfortable. The lodges are spaced well apart so very private. The hot tub was amazing and always to the right temperature. The weather was very cold but the lodge was so warm and cosy although very open plan. With two gorgeous enormous sofas. The log fire was the icing on the cake and so easy to use. The lodge was spotless. The beds very comfortable. It is a fantastic location for fishing and to see wildlife. The lake is virtually a couple of metres away from you door. The ducks are very friendly . Lots of different varieties. The staff are very friendly, The site manager is on hand if you have any problems and will deal with any straight away. The only downside from my husbands point of view was that the café come bar on site was not open. This may be due to being out of season as (January.) But we were notified that it may not be open prior to booking. And that parts of the decking could be made more secure. parts were a little unstable and worn. I would totally recommend Westfield Lakeland lodges.
Brilliant Log Cabin, third time we have been and will definitely return again.
Lovely lodge. Beautiful surroundings.
We really enjoyed our family New Year break at Westfield Lakeland Lodges. We had 4 lodges between us and all had a great time. The only downside, and it was beyond anyone's control really, was the amount of mud around.
Site manager fantastic - could not do enough - every credit for extremely prompt service decent WIFI a definite plus when the weather is not the best
Very relaxing beautiful location with good quality lodge and helpful staff.
