Fun Days Out in Vale Of York

Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.

Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. There is also a large lake offering boat trips during the summer months. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.

Come rain or shine children need to be entertained and Creepy Crawlies just north of York is the perfect place! This all weather attraction caters for toddlers and children up to 12 years old with a huge array of climbing equipment, ball pools, slides, chutes and adventure areas. Adults can relax and enjoy a coffee and a snack while the kids are having fun.  The site also has a large and rather impressive outdoor area with pet zone and pedal track with Go karts. There is also a pond with fish and a sensory zone where children can touch and feel new and interesting things.

Lovely area to be in to visit Whitby
York House Country Park is a quiet peaceful site which is beautifully landscaped and immaculately maintained. The caravan we stayed in was clean comfortable and well equipped. The park has a coffee shop which serves light meals, snacks and refreshments. There is also a games room on site which has table tennis, table football and a pool table. The coffee shop is open to the public but access to the site is kept private by use of fob activated barrier. All the staff we met were friendly , welcoming and helpful. The park is a few miles from Thirsk and is well place for visiting York and the many attractions in the surrounding area. I would not hesitate to recommend York House to anyone wanting a quiet relaxing break.
Very relaxing time caravans and park very clean and welcoming. Very dog friendly.
The park was very well maintained and spotless. The lodge was very comfortable. Quiet peaceful location, easy access to North Yorkshire and Yorkshire dales. The gardeners on site did an excellent job. Staff in reception very helpful.
excellent for a quiet get away central to places to visit
Very lovely site plenty to do
Gorgeous caravan. Perfect for us to take the dog. We loved our stay. Thank you.
I've been here a few times and it never fails to impress. I absolutely love it here. The only thing that would improve it would be to make the river more accessible and appealing. My kids play there from a small entrance surrounded by bushes, nettles and overgrowth. In saying that this doesn't spoil our stay at all. Highly recommended
Loved staying here - wonderful for runs, walks, sight-seeing etc
Fab break.. yet again !
Fantastic location, immaculate caravan. Staff all friendly and cafe delicious. Will definitely be back.
