Dig is a unique and somewhat educational attraction in York offering children the opportunity to enjoy excavation, discovery, and digging. Within the site is a discovery centre, several pits filled with Roman and Medieval ruins and a science lab where children can take part in exciting experiments. Staff are on hand at all times to help the children and to ensure they get the most from the experience. The attraction can get busy during school holidays and pre booking is recommended.
Castle Howard is one of the regions most beautiful and historic landmarks and is located in 1,000 acres of parkland with breathtaking gardens to explore. As well as exploring the castle visitors can enjoy attractios including the unique Land Train - the best way to see the entire park. In high season the site is very popular with families and offers organised activities for children including tours, talks, crafting and animal encounters. The site also has a Nature Trail which is fun for the whole family and an Adventure Playground where children can run off some energy.

Ideal location, visited Malham Cove, Whitby, York, Leeds, Fountains Abbey, Hartlepool and both sites of the National Railway Museum all within reach.
Caravan park was just perfect for me and good access, no narrow lanes. Cafe on site, but didn't use as was always out before it opened. Thirsk close by for your supermarket shopping or eating out.
Very relaxing, which was the reason for our stay.
Thanks to all
Helmesley is lovely, and the walk to Reivaulx Abbey ruins along the Cleveland way is well worth the short climb in the middle of an otherwise straightforward walk. The Abbey is stunning, and the views of the castle are great on the return walk.
The North York Moors railway is wonderful, and the villages of Masham and Middlham make great stops on the way to Leyburn on the edge of the dales. Of the two brewery visitor centres in Masham, make time for the Theakston's as it is kept a traditional pub feel, whereas the Black Sheep was more commercial.
The park, accommodation and service were all first class making this a wonderful holiday destination.
Delighted with the quality of the accommodation. We stayed in a modern 2 bed caravan which was immaculate on arrival.
Will definitely come back in the near future.
Beautiful modern caravan which was immaculate
Brett, West Molesey
Well equipped and clean caravan. Site is very well laid out and kept immaculate.
Great location within 30 minutes of York and next to the north Yorkshire moors. The manager Sam was very welcoming and helpful throughout. Would recomend to families/couples
Very comfortable. The only thing I would have liked in the lodge is an hairdryer.
Elizabeth, Stratford Upon Avon
It felt like a brand new caravan. Loved it!
Very clean and welcoming.
This is a brilliant site, very well maintained and lovely surroundings. The caravan was very clean and well maintained. The staff on the site were very friendly and helpful, I can't wait to go back.
When of the best holidays I've had. Nice quiet site, helpful and friendly staff everything very clean.
Not a place to go if you want a pool, gym and amusements on site. But if you don't want these it's perfect.
Excellent site for exploring the area. Clean tidy site with modern statics - well equipped and comfortable. Friendly, helpful management and staff. Good tearoom onsite and a great animal park/farm a short walk away.
Park was lovely and clean, accomodation was also spotless, staff were very helpful. Would definitely recommend this place
Having not been to Yorkshire this was a lovely first holiday , a very good location for exploring this beautiful area. The park would be much better if there was a pub on site or within walking distance but very clean, luxurious park - would come again without a doubt!
A beautiful lodge with everything we needed would stay again
lovely caravan and site.everything spotlessly clean and staff very friendly .excellent shower.
The park was one of the best areas we've stayed in. All we 're very helpful, and
the lodge was perfect and very clean.
The luxury holiday lodges are exactly that. Lovely, spacious, bright and well equipped. The lodges are well spaced around superbly tended grass areas and shrubs, with a nice pond and a fountain. The site is far enough into the countryside to give you that feeling of having escaped to a small piece of Eden, but close to Thirsk and main routes to make exploring the North York Moors or the Yorkshire Dales not a trial. The charming victorian resort of Saltburn on Sea is only just over 1/2 hour north, and York 1/2 mile south. We will definitely be returning.
