This brilliant glamping accommodation in the Shepherd’s hut style that differs from a lot of the properties I’ve seen in the Lakes.
There are a few things here that made it worthy of our best of roundup. For starters, when you walk in the first thing you’ll notice is how they’ve done the wood burning fire. Rather than tucked away in the corner, it takes centre stage here in the middle of the lodge. Guests can sit around the surrounding table and enjoy a glass of wine while getting a warm from the open fire.
I also want to comment on grounds. This hut is set in a Japanese style garden that’s a real highlight. Complete with it’s own stream and wooden bridge. The garden is well-kept and a real highlight of the property. It’s a peaceful setting in the heart of the Lake District National park.
There’s parking for one car right beside this glamping hut so you can unload your car without having to make big runs back and forth.
This property is also a good pick if you’re looking for something dog friendly in the Lake District.

There’s lots to see in the area with the highlight being the working steam train which you can take from Newby Bridge and Averthwaite. You can enjoy some magnificent views here too.
