The accommidation was beautiful well maintained and comfortable. The only letdown was there was no WiFi and we could not find how to get this. The accommidation was clean tidy and well equipped. Every detail had been thought of. The hot tub was brilliant and the grounds and outside eating area and bbq area were also well maintained and clean

Beautiful house and surroundings. Very relaxing break. Couple of things that could have been better, the hot tub was too hot for our small children to use even for a little dip with no bubbles. The instructions for how to change the temperature in the welcome book did not match the hot tub model so they missed out on this part of the holiday. The welcome book says to contact sioned for any queries and to get WiFi password etc but no contact details for sioned could be found. There was no cake as stated in the details as part of the welcome pack just a couple of biscuits. It was extremely light in the mornings when sleeping upstairs on the balcony part so if you like a lie in take an eye mask or you will be up when the sun rises as there is no way to block the lights coming through the main window at the front of the building. The cot is only suitable for babies under one as it is very small and no mattress was included. The highchair was just wooden and too small for our 2 year old and too upright for our 7m old baby to use. None of these were a massive issue to us but worth mentioning if it helps others. We had a lovely time the views were amazing and we cant wait to come back next year.

Absolutely set in beautiful and scenic surroundings. The house itself was extremely comfortable for us and our two children (3 and 6 year olds). We weren't able to use the hot tub on the first night due to it being cold following a water change which was initially disappointing but in hindsight this reassured us that the water is freshly changed for each guest. Wonderful for both families and couples!

Lovely time at y beudy, awkward to find at first but we did get there in pitch black. Good location with little town centre not too far away, love that its only half hour drive to Barmouth. only major thing I think should be done is new mattress's with a little more give in them, it felt like I was sleeping on planks of wood for our stay (other people may enjoy a firm mattress). Hot tub views are amazing but the deck is extremely slippy when wet. Only other thing to note is the hob is induction so if you plan on taking any pans of your own make sure they work on induction. Would come back again.

Lovely cottage & hot tub was a bonus with everyone - also no bath robes or slippers as described. Disappointed with the use of the water - ie 2 showers running at the same time - with being 7 of us - had to wait at least 20 mins for tank to fill up between washes. Lovely place to stay - all utensils there to use for kitchen but bring matches for the wood burner. No extra toiletry samples of shampoo, conditioner, shower gel or soap!

I would love this place to be our little secret :) It was truly lovely. The house had everything that you could possibly need (more). We stay here with our friends and the house was warm, clean, gorgeous. Plenty of room for two families to stay here and the pool table was a good idea! The children were never board as there is plenty to keep them occupied. Our evenings were spectacular in the hot tub. Loved sitting eating our meals and looking out at the amazing views! We will be back.

Fantastic cottage, fantastic hosts in Sioned and Gareth, the place is a gorgeous luxury old barn conversion, with everything that you could possibly want while you're staying there..
Its comfortable, spacious, with stunning views all around, as well as all fresh new kitchen and bathrooms to help you relax and enjoy your stay... and the hottub and decking area overlook a stunning view of the Aran mountainside that can't be beaten! I am a regular visitor here, and am already returning in a couple of months for my next break... i really can't recommend this place enough..make sure you book it, and enjoy a stunning break that delivers on the "wow" factor from start to finish!!

We have recently come back from a stay at Y beudy. Wow what a place. The lodge was breath taking the views amazing!! We was greeted by the host later in the evening on our first night with lemon drizzle which was still hot from the oven. Delish. So relaxed and didnt feel any pressure from here. We had a trip the the Eagles inn twice which is a 15 min walk away and serves beautiful food. Defo recommended. We was informed of a lovely Forrest walk but we passed and had longer in the hot tub :-). It was simply like being home from home. Everything you can think of is covered. The log burner is beautiful and can purchase more logs if you require which we did. IF, we had to change anything we would have liked the beds to have been a little bigger and comfier they are small and creaky. And check in to be earlier and check out later but appreciate it needs cleaning in those given times. We loved every minute. Friends have already booked on our recommendation. Thanks so much!!!!! X

We spent our first wedding anniversary in Carreg Y Nant at Bryn Caled Cottages and had a wonderful break. The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed and more. The location is great and despite the very changeable March weather, we were able to utilise the spacious private hot tub every day. We were greeted by Sioned and a very tasty lemon drizzle cake and were made to feel very welcome. The owners' dogs and chickens were roaming the grounds which was lovely too. We had a fantastic stay and will most definitely be visiting again!

Date of stay: 13th September 2018
We had a very lovely stay at this cottage, so close to giving this a score of 10 but unfortunately a couple of little issues prevented this but if these are sorted we would definitely return:
The positives first:
love the design and style of the cottage, very spacious and everything you could possibly need was there especially in the kitchen.
The cottage was immaculately clean and well maintained overall despite a couple of things.
The owner was very friendly and even baked us a small lemon cake on arrival and introduced herself and offered advice on places to visit nearby.
The beds were very comfortable and plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
The ensuite bathroom was spacious and bath/shower was very comfortable and easy to use ( which is rare)
Alot of leaflets and good amount of advice given in the cottage booklet of places to visit and local food and drink in the area as well as discount offers.
Loved the upstairs balcony with amazing views of the welsh mountain countryside.
The owners had a couple of friendly dogs who came over to visit who were well behaved as well as some free roaming chickens and two horses in the field opposite.
The location of the cottage was brilliant in a rural area however a small drive away from the local village of bala.

Things need improvement:
It was great to have a hot tub at the cottage (we rarely book a cottage without one) however this hot tub wasn't up to our usual standards. This hot tub didn't seem well maintained unfortunately - when in use, it was only set to economy mode (which couldn't be changed) where the jets were on slow power mode and a strange loud noise was present everytime the jets were turned off, also the water feature from the hot tub handle didn't work until we fixed it.
The TV in downstairs double bedroom signal was very bad and barely watchable and the upstairs TV turned on by itself at 6am twice during our stay and wouldn't turn off unless unplugged.
A few of the spot lights on the ceiling weren't working and one of the sofas upstairs was abit worn.

However these are all minor issues and with a few upgrades the cottage is definitely worth returning to and overall one of the best cottages we have stayed in. I would give this a 9/10.
