Sky Den our very own tree house featured on George Clarke’s Amazing Spaces TV show. With furniture that folds into the walls in the square, a wood burning stove in the cylinder and a roof that opens up to view the night skies, Sky Den offers a unique glamping experience for up to 4 people.Architect and TV presenter George Clarke launched this extraordinary treehouse project in December 2013 and it has been amazingly popular ever since. Created with designer William Hardie, SkyDen features a spectacular opening roof revealing views of Europe’s largest working forest and the UK’s darkest skies. Speaking about Sky Den George Clarke says, “We’ve never designed anything like it before. It’s part treehouse, part art installation and can offer a unique experience on a unique site.”Your Sky Den Experience.The Square. This is your main living area on ground level opening onto a balcony. It is accessible for our disabled guests. This compact space then transforms into a dining area or a 2 single bedroom layout when cleverly designed furniture is folded down from the walls. This space also houses the small well-equipped kitchen with mini-oven, grill, 2 hotplates, small fridge, kettle, toaster and mini fridge.The Circle. This is your outdoor seating and dining area situated above a free-flowing stream and houses a small wood-burning stove. The Circle is accessible via a gently sloped walkway from the roadside.The Triangle. This is your upper sleeping area accessed via external stairs. The triangle is not accessible by anyone who cannot climb the external stairs from the walkway. A small step ladder leads you to the sleeping platform. There is under-bed storage and of course, the roof opens to view the magnificent dark skies.The Bathroom. This is your level entry wet room incorporating a shower, toilet and hand basin and is located just outside the square.Sheets, blankets, duvets and towels are provided however we recommend bringing your own sleeping bags during the colder months or if you plan on sleeping outside in The Circle. There is electric lighting throughout Sky Den, though as you will be situated in an International Dark Skies Park, external lighting is limited. We recommend you bring a torch with you, especially if you plan to arrive after dark. There is room for a baby up to 2 years old as a fifth guest. ...
