Carmarthan Bay Park Dean resort is in the middle of no where. We have just returned from a short break here and were disappointed there were so many children here that should have been in school. If you want peace and quiet then this is the place for you., providing your caravan is not next to a caravan with young children running up and down until all hours of the night. The campsite is not very well sign posted and it is easy to miss the turning. Someone ended up in a field, they told us but to be fair, we didn't have any trouble finding the camp site. The site is reached down a two mile long road, which is fairly narrow but has good passing bays along the way. There is a railway line right along the length of the campsite, and trains are quite frequent but we didn't find it too noisy. Unfortunately, we had dreadful weather whilst there this week and the park was very flooded. Not all caravans have a hard stand next to it for parking, so those parked on the grass had a bit of trouble. The park has a swimming pool, amusements and a bar and restaurant. There are no other food facilities on site except what is on offer in the Boathouse restaurant. We ate on arrival at the park as there was no where else to go. The menu is ok and the food quality was also ok, but very pricey. There is a children's menu but if you are feeding two or three children, it will be expensive. The average price of a children's meal is £7. Beer was also pricey. £6.49 for a pint of lager. Unfortunately, Kidwelly village is not within walking distance, so unless you drive into the village, where there are three pubs, you are in for an expensive evening. I don't know if there is a local taxi service. The Club house for their entertainment is lovely. One of the best I have come across on a camp site. There is the early entertainment for the little ones, the staff are very enthusiastic and attentive to the kids, they had a great time. Linked Bingo is played from 7pm. Doesn't take too long. £12 for a book of 6 with 4 pages. The prize money will increase as the season progresses and more people play. The top prize on the last page full house was approx £400. They do play an in house flyer if they have enough people to play. This will cost you £6 if you play a card of 6. We didn't stay after the bingo but there is a full program of entertainment in the evening. There is also a shop on site for things you have forgotten. Again very pricey, so good idea to take most things with you. Newspapers are available everyday. We didn't use the swimming pool, so I'm afraid we cannot offer any opinion. Usually, toilet paper has provided in caravans we have stayed in this last year but I also pack one just in case. Good job I did. The caravan was fairly basic but comfortable and suited our needs for the short stay we had booked. The caravans are located a fair way from the amenities of the club house. It is a good walk but we drove as the weather was so wet. The caravans are also in rows of 3, very close together. It would have been nice if the oldies had been allocated caravans and grouped in the same area and the families with kids in another. Unfortunately, we were surrounded by small children running up and down the caravans until at least 11pm. The constant noise of bang, bang, bang on the caravan floor was very grating. The most outstanding feature on this site is the view across the estuary from the restaurant. It is stunning and a great place to watch the sun go down. Take a pair of bins and watch the different species of birds on the waters edge when the tide is out. Wonderful. Good walks to be had along the shore. Not the best park we have stayed in recently but did the job as a base for visiting the area. The Castle is well worth a visit.

The caravan was nice but the heating turned off after 20 minutes every time so we were cold overnight. The bed was the most uncomfortable one I have ever slept in. There were hairs in the shower and the towel rail was covered in rust. But otherwise the caravan was very clean The fire place in the lounge was connected to the TV remote so when using the TV it kept beeping and changing the settings of the fire - very strange.

Caravan was nice but not properly cleaned. There were sweet wrappers under all of the beds, and the plates and cutlery were all really badly washed. I imagine the previous guests didnt have washing up liquid, and it wasnt checked by staff.

Caravan was not ideal, rather grubby and tired, too small to be comfortable.

The caravan didnt have the features which we paid extra for as the stardley pet. There was no built in water bowel station which was why we booked the caravan at first as we thought this was a lovely feature for the dog. When asking for if they gave us a glass kitchen cooking bowl for the dogs water. The tv was in a different language and no way of changing and wasnt able to use the smart tv features as there was no Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi on our phones did not work so we was stuck when we got in the caravan as no Wi-Fi on phone or tv. This did ruin our weekend and the staff was not helpful at all

Holiday companies really should demand more from manufacturers of caravans. Caravan desperately needed a door curtain. 4 hooks for a 6 birth just doesn't work. Not luxury requests ? just basic imho.

Absolutely disgusting place to visit. Caravan was dirty, filled with bugs, holes in a door, mould on the shower and bedroom curtains. Pull out sofa bed doesn't even have basic mattress. Staff are rude and unhelpful, facilities are dire. Overall, only go if you wish to waste to your money. Whilst staying, we weren't the only ones to complain. No beach, but you do have a train line right next to you, with trains running at all hours.

Beautifully presented caravan. Very comfortable beds. Everything we needed in terms of crockery and utensils. We had central heating which came in handy on bad weather days. Its a compact caravan but 3 adults managed perfectly well in the space.

We had a wonderful holiday at Carmarthen Bay. Caravan was spotlessly clean and everything well set up to adapt to the current situation. Site was very well maintained. Excellent value for money family holiday in great location for travelling around West Wales.

Sadly the people who had stayed in the caravan before us had clearly ignored the no smoking signs and the caravan smelt of smoke. The cleaning staff came and recleaned it but it couldnt get rid of the smell. Aside from that the caravan was good and this wasnt the fault of the campsite staff.

Does not look good from the outside, but very nice inside, clean, warm and the kitchen is well equipped with utensils etc. From our chalet we could be on the beach in 30 seconds!

There were two wash basins & two WCs. The ensuite was fine but not good for brushing teeth as the shelf obstructed the very small sink! The twin bedded bedroom might be a bit cramped for two adults but excellent for one adult.
