Had a lovely weekend break for my 60th Birthday with my husband, sister & brother in law fantastic lodge and peaceful surroundings had a lovely meal in the local pub and the staff were amazing, my sister had the table decorated lovely surprise x

A nice place to spend a few days to relax or visit Manchester for shopping private location lovely hot tub that is well maintained during your stay

Stayed in the Amour 1 Lodge. Was really nice inside, good kitchen and living room. Kitchen had a good stock of pots and pans and utensils which was helpful. Bathroom in bedroom was ok but a little on the small side. Nowhere to put your toothbrush etc. Hot tub was ok. Was at temperature when we arrived, however most of the jets didnt work so felt like you were sitting in a warm bath outside. Only used twice in the whole week. Bed was awful! Rickety old wooden bed with a very soft mattress that sunk in the middle. Woke each other up in the night turning over or getting up to use the loo cause of the creaking! Place was generally clean, however quite a lot of cobwebs hanging from the beams and light fittings over the bed. Did have a slight problem one of the days where we had no heating or hot water, due to a bad storm the previous evening, but the staff were quick to sort and even bought over some electric radiators which was a very nice touch.

The sofas could do with new seating cushions. Besides that it was great.

We had a lovely short holiday break, and would return to the area as still things to see and do. We love the area.

Went for our honeymoon, having 3 kids we couldn't do abroad, at first we though we were just settling for second best, until we got there. It was amazing!

A lovely lodge. Very comfortable and well fitted. Outdoor area was nice and copper bath was great - though maybe didnt keep water hot for as long as wed hoped. Was plenty of hot water though.

Perfect for a quiet few days away. Cottage clean, comfortable and well appointed.

Hidden gem in a hidden location. Despite no staff on site, everything was dealt with efficiently & with ease. Accommodation was clean & tidy in a beautiful setting.

Beautiful setting, very relaxing, luxury lodge!

This Coombes View lodge was dated in several ways. The setties were worn out, the heating was switched of and had to be turned on by staff and later had to be restarted. The hot tub is controled daily but also a bit tired (lights not working). The remote to the entrance gate did not work and no replacement was avaible. Staff was very helpful and reaponded quickly. But the lodge really deserves a thorough upgrade.

The Lodge exceeded our expectation - we stayed in Coombes View 1 and were absolutely delighted with our accommodation. Set in picturesque countryside with breathtaking views, each lodge is situated well away from the others offering privacy and tranquility. Inside the lodge was beautiful, well equipped and immaculately clean. The hot tub was maintained daily and was up to temperature by the time we had unpacked. We had the added bonus of the company of 3 Alpacas who came to the fence at the side of our lodge daily. Another highlight was helping owner Mark herd 4 of his sheep, who had escaped their field and decided to pay us a visit. We spotted a deer from our kitchen window on our last day! This place is a hidden gem, was such a relaxing break and a complete change from the normal busy pace of every day life. If youre looking for a get away from it all break this is the place and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will definitely be returning.

We had a beautiful stay at the cottage in the Peak District. The views were stunning, the cottage was beautiful and the hot tub was a lovely addition. The cottage was clean, with lovely decor and furniture. The kitchen had everything we needed, the dressing room was perfect and the bed in the master bedroom was deluxe! Thank you for a wonderful stay! We also loved the alpacas ????.

Peaceful location, although accessed by a single track so care is needed when driving down this.Lovely views. Clean and comfortable and spacious cottage. Kitchen well stocked with utensils and equipment. Would of been good to have instructions for the cooker.Hot tub is positioned the wrong way round because when the cover is off it blocks the lovely view.

Very comfortable cottage but cleaning aspects were sub par, cobwebs, insects, hot tub wasn't clean, we only saw someone coming over to maintain it once the entire time we were there.Cooker and appliances were easy to use, the shower and bath was great.The dressing room felt like wasted space, could've got another bedroom in there

Would definitely recommend Coombes View Lodge. The only small thing we missed was a welcome pack with a few tea bags, coffee, milk etc that we have had in most other lodges weve stayed in. Otherwise excellent.

Very spacious, comfortable cottage at a well maintained peaceful location. Within easy drive of nice walks and National Trust properties as well as Manchester. The cottage was clean and the bed very comfortable. There were pleasant views from the bedroom and patio. We enjoyed listening to the birdsong and the owls at night! We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the area.

Hot tub was great and the only reason why we book lodges for the luxury of the hot tub. Great positioning and always available for us. Lodge was clean, a little dated inside though which photos on the website didnt show you in inside of every lodge, although very functional

Beautiful comfortable cottage lovely master king size bed it had everything we needed and the views was amazing to look at but the only down side was it was a smart tv but could only manage to watch bbc iPlayer needs a update one night we was in the hot tub it was around 7pm the owner came out and told us to turn the music down but it does state in the welcome book no noice after 10pm.

Lovely barn conversion in a tranquil setting although the road to it could be better. Very comfortable large bed and nice modern bathrooms, one with a spa bath and one with a walk in shower. Hot tub was lovely once it got up to temperature. Would definitely visit again.

Spotless. Fabulous for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. I would have preferred the hottub to be programmed to use both jets. However, I will definitely return.

Nice lodge very comfortable. Easy parking. And lodges spread out so no one over looking you. Nice having 2 bathrooms didn't use hot tub but it's there if you want it.

The lodge was a perfect getaway from our busy lives. My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time staying in the Peak District at The Retreat. On arrival the lodge was spotlessly clean and the facilities were fabulous. We booked this lodge for the outdoor spa bath and it did not disappoint. I would definitely recommend it.

We spent 4 nights at the Old Barn Cottage, the cottage was perfect! So spacious and had everything we needed. Lovely views and surroundings. The sofa has been upgraded compared to the photos to a big, comfy corner sofa. Short walk in to Charlesworth village with the George and Dragon pub and 2 little shops. Short drive in to Glossop where there are more shops and places to eat, and a short drive to the Peak District to go on a big walk. Would definitely go back to stay in the cottage again!

I feel like the photos that you have on the website are quite misleading as there are a range of different cabins, so you would benefit by making it clear what cabin it is being booked. My mum booked one as a birthday surprise for me and was under the impression that it would come with a more modern interior and a log burner which ours didnt. The cabin was still lovely but when I showed my mum around she was disappointed as that was not what she thought she was booking. It was all spotless and had everything we needed in terms of utilities so overall am very happy with the stay and would recommend it to others.

Excellent stay, just a few minor things that could elevate it. Mirror in single bed bedroom, dishwasher wasn’t working after being told it was fixed, a few wasps flying around. Otherwise the stay was brilliant and we really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you ?

A very nice and clean lodge that was good value for money. Hot tub was also clean and well kept. The only slight issue was no access to WiFi (couldn't find or connect) but was a minor flaw when everything else was really good. Would return happily.

Been here several times before so that should say something of my opinion of site , ( first time in old barn though ). Ideal spot to get away from it all for a few days , but plenty on door step if required ( Buxton , Manchester).

All round excellent, my only complaint is that there was no where to sit to dry your hair and make up as there’s no dressing tables or mirrors, apart from that excellent.

Beautiful lodge with fantastic amenities located in an idyllic spot, would definitely book again, in fact I have booked for next year already.

This place MADE our trip. Recommend it to anyone.
