Just returned from a 2-night stay @Glan Morfa, and stayed in the 2-bedroom Wren cottage. This was a very nice cottage with fantastic views through the living room/kitchen window, well-presented rooms, clean and tidy throughout, nice and quiet also.Unfortunately 5 days before I received an email saying that the heating wasn't working on site and that heaters were placed in the cottage if we wanted to use them, fortunately, it wasn't below freezing as these would have not been adequate. In addition, there was not enough hot water for 2 people to use the shower, so I drew the short straw and went second which resulted in a cold shower for me!!I sent 2 separate emails asking questions before my arrival but never had a response to either, it was also very difficult to speak to anyone on a weekend as the numbers given are not manned. This is a nice location but has a horrendous drive down to the cottages, with some really big craters which are hard to avoid!!

We loved wren cottage. Great location, all the facilities needed. Could do with things checking between stays, the one knife available was broken, a broken cup, no bottle opener, and the fridge smelt of sour milk so I had to clean that again myself.Otherwise Id definitely recommend and look to return.

Beautiful cottage very comfortable and clean, wish it had a dishwasher. The only thing I'd change is the access road it really needs tarmac but would still return.

Glan Morfa Lodge is beautiful. Our lovely cottage was modern, clean and homely. There is a great selection of nearby beaches, from long, sandy beaches to beautiful bays packed with rock pools. We took our dog with us and there were plenty of woodland walks nearby. The scenery was gorgeous and Anglesey has loads to offer for families. We packed loads of fun into our 4 day mini break! Would definitely recommend.
Christopher
Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!
Emma
Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!
Phoebe
Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you!
Andrew
It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!
Simon
Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!
Brooke
Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend.
Libby
Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x
James
Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill.

We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people.
Carol
The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings.
Inderjit
Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise.
Richard
The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place.
Denise
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break!
Sharon
Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend
Fleur
Lovely accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing and great for dogs as the garden is fully inclosed
Antonia
Had such a lovely, relaxing break. Cottage was immaculate, equipped with everything you need and some lovely added extras too. Couldnt recommended more
Rachel
Had a lovely weekend away staying here. Would love to come back later on in the year.
Penny
Lovely friendly owners. Couldnt do enough when the power went down due to the storm. Very well equipped and clean. Very warm cottage. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed outside space and us the hot tub!
Georgina
Perfect venue for a quiet break away. Sharon and Robert have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Although this was our second visit it definitely will not be our last.
Sarah
Beautiful cottage in a lovely quiet location. Ideal to escape and relax. Hot tub was amazing and the cottage was immaculate with everything you needed. Lots of walks close by and within the village reach. Had such a wonderful time. Couldnt recommend enough.
Tracey
