Vale Of York » Malton

Malton Grange Country Park is located in a woodland, semi-rural location, however just a short distance from the bustling market town of Malton with its superb collection of shops, restaurants and bars.

There is an abundance of walks and cycle tracks from your front door so is also well suited to the outdoor enthusiasts.

The site is very well maintained and offers guests a high degree of privacy whilst in your lodge, some of the lodges have private bubbling hot tubs where you can relax after a day out exploring the local area.

The park is in easy distance to explore the beautiful east coast seaside towns and villages with Scarborough, Bridlington and Whitby all stacked with local history and charm.

You could perhaps head inland and explore the stunning city of York, where you can wander through the Shambles and visit the cathedral.

Apart from most uncomfortable sofa ever we had a great few days within easy reach of York for sightseeing. Highly recommend The Smithy Arms for a fantastic meal

The park itself is lovely and quiet, but nothing is walkable from the site. The lodge itself is beatiful alrhought there could have been improvements with cleanliness. We had to wash all cutlery and crockery before use as they were dirty. When we checked in there was still an empty beer bottle on the twin bedroom windowsill from the previous guests. The mater bathroom has some sort of issue with drainage as every day the smell of sewage from that bathroom was bad and had to run all taps for a while for it to disappear. There was no cleaning products. Like bench sprays or bleach to keep the lodge clean during stay, so bring your own. The sofas were nice and comfortable and the lodge offered a lot of space. However the bed had the thinnest mattress I think Ive ever slept on and made for uncomfortable nights. Overall the lodge was great and has amazing potential. Im putting the the little irks down to it being the start of the season.

the holiday park is very nice. The lodge has plenty of space around it and is quiet, there were a few issues that require attention, window blinds in both bathrooms door handles in second bedroom and the stains on the mattress cover was not nice, We stayed for Christmas and very pleased with the tree and other decorations.

Excellent facilities. Really easy to find and access. The only issue we had was on our departure we had a power cut for an hour and with it being Christmas, the emergency number could not be used. Didnt spoil the holiday however.

We were a family of 5 adults and had a pleasant weekend break at Lazy Bear Lodge. The beds were comfortable although the single bedroom was a bit snug for a full grown adult. There is free WiFi and a smart TV where you can log into your Netflix account. York centre is about 30-40 min drive away.

Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!
Emma
Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!
Phoebe
Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you!
Andrew
It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!
Simon
Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!
Brooke
Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend.
Libby
Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x
James
Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill.
Annemieke
We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people.
Carol
The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings.
Inderjit
Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise.
Richard
The lovely cottage is situated on a working farm, but is very private. The owners, Robert and Sharon, are delightful. The cottage is very spacious with good equipment in the kitchen and the bathroom. The bed is really comfortable. The garden is secluded; dog proof and with good furniture. There are numerous walks around. Thaxted has good restaurants. We liked The Star and The Maypole. The Swan and the Indian are not bad either. We thoroughly recommend this place.
Denise
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and Sharon and Robert were great hosts and made us feel very welcome. The accommodation had everything we needed and was clean, comfortable and secure for our dog Archie. The location was ideal too with plenty of walks to find and Thaxted and surrounding villages are lovely places to visit. We felt our batteries had certainly been recharged during our week and we enjoyed our relaxing break!
Sharon
Stayed here for a week from 15 to 22 July with our 2 mini daschund girls who thoroughly enjoyed there stay making new friends in the village of thaxted. The cottage is lovely especially the hot tub a bonus as it was the hottest days of the year so the water was coolled so it was more refreshing the hosts were very welcoming was nice to see there horses being taken to the fields each day you are on the flight path near stansted but I enjoyed watching the planes come in would definitely recommend
Fleur
Lovely accommodation, very peaceful and relaxing and great for dogs as the garden is fully inclosed
