First off the lodge is in the most amazing location, particularly if you have a dog, we found a new walk to explore directly from the lodge every day. We also had a day at Alton towers which was only 30mins away. Bakewell and Buxton around 45mins. Be prepared if there is wet weather the road up to the lodge does get muddy. Plenty of cafes and a pub within walking distance. The enclosed garden was also appreciated with having a dog. The lodge itself has bags of potential but we found elements of the maintenance a bit lacking (hot tub cover/sofas/crockery/bathrooms) in some areas but then other areas (hot tub/tv/wi fi) were super modern. Overall a lovely stay in a peaceful location

A well maintained, clean and tidy lodge with lots of facilities. We all enjoyed the hot tub and sitting outside in the covered area listening to all the birds nearby.

A lovely lodge in a lovely setting. We loved watching all the different types of birds that came to the bird feeder in the garden. It was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need. We especially appreciated that everyone was given 3 towels plus hand towels for each shower room. My only note would be it would have been nice to have had in shower non slip mats considering one member of our party is 86 yrs but we managed fine with one of the many towels available.

One bed reportedly a little lumpy but mine was perfect and great nights rest. Some of the dishes a little sticky not an issue really as brilliant access to dishwasher and tablets may just benefit from a quick check over previous guests possibly handwashing and putting back.

Had a wonderful weekend with our family in Heronsview this Feb, this is our second time and we have rebooked again for next February. The lodge is a wonderful authentic Norwegian lodge, lovely and cosy in the winter. The new hot tub is the feature it sits 6 people easily so there is plenty of room and the music and lights make it extra special. We loved the fairy lights that come on after dark , the ambience is wonderful. The lodge is dog friendly but we didnt bring ours this year , the garden is long and secure for small, medium dogs , there is a lovely meadow in front of the lodge that our 2 will enjoy next year. Matt and Mark the owners are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble, they are always there at the end of the phone if needed. All in all we had an amazing family weekend and cant wait for our next visit

Lovely lodge with hot tub within beautiful surroundings. The lodge itself was well equipped and only a short walk to Rudyard Lake. This is our 3rd time staying and we have enjoyed our holidays here. While staying here we have visited Alton Towers and also Drayton Manor (ThomasLand).

We've visited this place twice now and honestly, its really quite lovely. The fact that they have a big field is a massive bonus for us since our dog loves running around and fetching his ball. Its a perfect spot if you want to escape the hustle and just relax for a bit. The WiFi works well up here, which is always handy. Plus, a short stroll takes you down to Rudyard Lake - such a peaceful spot! Theres also a shop on-siteand weve even ordered takeaway in Leek to be delivered right to the lodges. Well definitely be back!

Weve stayed at Watersview before, so we knew the site was lovely, which helped set our expectations. Since there arent any photos online, we took a bit of a gamble with Watersview, especially after reading some reviews saying it needed updating. Luckily, we were quite pleased with what we found - it was fine for us. The lodges have a cosy feel with lots of woodand the modern bathrooms and kitchens are a plus. A few things to note: no wifi, the indoor fire was brokenand the extractor fan above the hob wasnt working. The decking could do with a fresh stain. Ohand bring a hairdryer and extra towels if youre using the hot tub - just a heads up!
