Perfect from start to finish.Peaceful, Clean and well equipped with all the mod cons.Dishwasher washer/dryer fridge freezer. Amazing cooking area microwave. All pots and pans nothing left out.Even a t towel roll inside a small washing up liquid and sponge. The staff were lovely the housekeepers all do there jobs very well.Parking is a little scarce but didn't effect the stay.We will definitely be back refreshed and truly not wanting to leave Large smart TV comfortable leather sofa. Comfy bed. Heating is very good and heats the lodge very quickly.

Dishwasher wheel missing making this hard to lift , kitchen skirting boards dropping down . And although checkout is 10am , from 9.15 a cleaner repeatedly standing by the door asking if we were going yet !

We really enjoyed our stay.Lodge was well equipped and plenty warm enough.Settee/armchairs were not so comfortable, but not bad enough to spoil our stay. Few tweaks needed e.g.could not open bathroom window(fortunately there was a fan)Pull cord for bedroom blind was broken on one window so could not let light in.There was no dustpan/brush or broomwhich we found surprising. We always endeavour to leave a place as we find it so was a bit disappointed at this.

Lovely lodge with everything you need. Maybe a few more cups and plates. But everything felt new. Having a bath and shower is perfect.

Our 2 bedroom lodge was clean and had all the facilities we needed to self cater with 2 young children. Plenty of space plus 1 bathroom with shower and 1 with bath was perfect.

Lovely weekend breakaway. The chalet was lovely not quite as clean in the kitchen area as it could have been but nothing we couldn't manage. Bedding and towels were immaculate.

There is little more to say than this site is perfect for us and our needs. Great value for money, well maintained facilities including a daily check of the hot tub, comfortable accommodation with a private parking space. Good wifi, good central heating and a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans. We love it here (have visited twice before). Stay here. You will not regret it.

Stayed at the end of January for a 3 night getaway - Stayed in cabin 21, 3 bed. Cabin was clean and came with a hot tub, hot tub was checked daily by staff which I liked. With it being a winter stayed I found the cabin lovely a warm, my husband found it to warm and did turn the radiators down a little however, this was an easy fix and glad it was to warm and not the other way round ????Took my dog, weather as you can imagine was not great however the cabin had a mud room, I found this very useful when coming back from the dog walks, gave time to clean up. We even got a dogie back when we arrived, this was a nice touch. Facilities in the cabin came with all that you would need from cooking utensils to toilet roll. All in all I would recommend to anyone that is looking for this kind of stay. Very good ????

Everything i put into my review of the overall site. Facilities did not work, it has been neglected. Has lots of potential but they need to fix the issues ASAP. Very disappointed and let down. Hottub and bath do not work. And take some oven cleaner and dishwasher tablets to clean everything before using...not a great break away especially for the money.

I am completely disappointed with my service and stay at Stratford upon Avon retreat stay. I booked two lodges one for 2 adults and one for 4 adults. At 2:26pm I received a text message saying the lodges were ready. When arriving for check in the receptionist told us a text message wasnt sent but I showed them. They were confused and informed us the lodges wasnt ready, we then left to go into the town.Arriving back to the lodge at 4pm (normally check in time) we got a phone call informing us one lodge was ready however the other one wasnt which was hosting 4 adults, 2 of them whom are disabled. The lady on the phone began telling us they were leaving early due to road floodings and we were to get the keys from reception only for one lodge and the other lodge will be ready in an hours time (5pm).After waiting nearly over an hour we went to the other lodge to find there wasnt any keys. After searching the lodge and being told they would be left in there. I rang the out of hours service which I was then told we must of checked in late as we should have for the keys from reception but I informed him about the situation which he said he will have to ring me back regarding the keys (which meant the 4 adults were stuck in the lodge without being able to leave a lock up). The man rang me back informing me he was confused and couldnt find the keys for the lodge and he could give us the master key to all lodges untill the morning. We kindly refused due to the nature of the key and the responsibility. After speaking to the ladies in the reception the following morning at 9am they kindly gave us the correct keys for the lodge. At this point we noticed several applications in the lodge with were faulty or broken.Lodge 19 was covered in cobwebs and obviously hasnt been cleansed throughly. The blinds were faulty either would open fully or the pull tabs wouldnt move. The small mirror in the bathroom was loose.Lodge 5 was also the same regarding the blind some wouldnt open and were missing slates. In the bathroom the tap was loose and wouldnt pump out hot water. The dining room chairs were loose, making them uncomfortable. There was no back to the tv remote in the living room. All of these points were made to receptionist which we were told they would get sorted after our stay. We also unprofessionally told about management change and stacking of the cleaning team.I am completely disgusted and stocked but this stay. You can see on my account I have book through yourselves several times and havent had issues at all but this has really changed my opinion now.

A lovely site but parking our car was a fair walk with luggage as we couldnt park anywhere near. Not great in icy weather conditions. Maybe providing wheel barrows would be a good idea as we had a lot of stuff. Good job we arent old! We loved our stay here. The lodge was beautiful and we would definitely stay again. There were a few issuesthe sofa was awful. Not comfortable at all. There was no throw or cushions. We took the duvet and the pillows off the bed to try and make it comfortable. The jets didnt work in the hot tub so it was like sitting in a hot bath. We loved the fact that the hot tub was covered though. We had 3 drink glasses, 1 coaster, and the bottle opener was broken so we couldnt open bottled beer. A pirex jug is definitely needed. These things were just annoying but we managed without. We would definitely stay again as it was lovely overall but would try and get a lodge with a better sofa. Great location too.

Hot tub wasnt up to scratch this time. Lots of jets not working. There is nothing to make fresh coffee in. And no washing up accessories. A few dish washer tabs and washing up liquid would be helpful. Or say in your info that you need to take your own. Staff very helpful and place lovely overall.

Quiet park in the countryside, with lovely nature filled grounds. Lodges are reasonably new and lovely spaces to stay in. However, they could make them 10/10 with some simple changes AND more importantly improve their impact on the environment e.g.Superking bed was made up with king linen - too small. The kitchen had cupboard knobs missing, no dust pan brush, no measuring jug, no frying pan. Not even quite enough knives, forks and spoons, and only 1 plate & bowl each. No dishwasher tablets or washing up liquid was provided. No separate recycling bin. No hairdryer. Broken window 'mended' with sticky tape Providing just the bare minimum of crockery & cutlery means the dishwasher will be run almost empty, repeatedly, or endless bowls of hot washing up water will be run, neither of which are kind to the planet. The literature is digital - for the environmental benefits - and the encouragement to recycle is heavily marketed with the environmental benefits, and yet, it is difficult to occupy the lodges in an environmentally gentle way, due to this big issue of missing kitchen equipment. A separate recycling bin would also encourage waste being correctly split. Come on Darwin Escapes, do your bit for the planet and fix these issues for future guests!
