I booked a nice quality caravan, but when I arrived we had been allocated a very basic model. I complained to reception. The first receptionist was unhelpful, but the second said a different caravan was available, and offered to show it to us. It was perfect and similar to the one I had booked. The rest of our stay was lovely. Facilities are mainly for families and I think it would be lively and noisy in school holidays. We did use the swimming pool, which was kept spotlessly clean.

St Asaph is the name of the type of caravan booked not the resort we stayed in. Towyn is the village. The caravan was nothing like the pictures advertised so we were disappointed with some of the facilities. Reading some of the other reviews this seems to be the norm with this type of caravan at this Park - Ty Mawr. The site was vast and full of kids that should have been at school as we holidayed at the end of September. The facilities were ok and we had breakfast at the restaurant a couple of times. Basic eggs and bacon, hash brown, beans and a sausage on their meal deal 2 for £11.99, but meals generally expensive and so was the beer. Average pint price £5.Site in a good location for visiting along the top coast as the Expressway/A55 is very accessible from Chester to Caernarfon. The area was very run down and not much open as it was late in the season. Usual seaside tat available to buy at extortionate prices. Rhyl is undergoing an upgrade on the promenade until 2025. It will be good when complete and hopefully will help regenerate a very tired town. This area is not very welsh. The visitors were mainly from the Liverpool and Manchester, as it is very close to these areas.Good proximity to a few castles in the area, which are very much worth a visit. Llandudno was a lovely Victorian town with a pier to visit. Will visit this area again and stay somewhere along the Towyn Road , as there are numerous caravan parks along the Towyn stretch but mainly because of the ease of getting around the area.

We had a great time at Ty Mawr the location is great and facilities were brilliant. The cleanliness of the resort was outstanding and the boathouse is a lovely place to eat at whilst away. Only downside I would say is the actual accommodation. The caravan was lovely and ideal for my partner and our young son but its disappointing that the photos do not match the photos of the caravan that you see when booking and its not clear that it will be different. I wouldnt say this caravan is suitable for 6 people as the living area doesnt sit 6 people. As we were with our baby we had to have our travel cot and that was a struggle to put this in the bedroom and we had to block the wardrobe space which wasnt ideal. Overall, great stay and would stay again but it should be clearer that the caravan may be different compared to the photos you are seeing when booking.

Clean but found some items of food still in the cupboards and cake wrappers, rubbish scattered around the seating area. Would benefit a small hoover or ewbank for the carpet areas and a toilet brush.

Our caravan was very well equipped and it was very clean and tidy. Single beds though could do with being a little big bigger. Apart from that, it was a very comfortable caravan.
