Visitor Reviews of Breydon Water

Before arriving at Breydon Water we had a call to ask whether we had any questions, I asked about being able to book the indoor pool as every time I went online to book a slot it said there were none. She wasn't overly helpful and just said you need to pre-book. The park wasn't overly busy so I was unsure as to why we couldn't get a swimming slot. When we arrived at Breydon Water to check in, we were first told that we had to go to their other site to check in. There was no mention of this on the phone. Once we arrived there (less than a minute drive), the staff who checked us in were friendly. The caravan was clean but could probably do with a deep clean, we moved the twin beds together so our children had a bit more space to sleep, when we moved the bed we came across a thick layer of dust. One of our children dropped a toy down behind the TV unit, where we found odd bits of other children's toys and pages out of magazines. The equipment is extremely minimal in the kitchen, there was also no towel or mat in the bathroom to put down when getting out of the shower. We can't really comment on the entertainment as we didn't use it or the activities. On site there is a small adventure golf, karts for the kids to bike around. The activities hut shut quite early in the evening. The sun was still shining and it was shut. Being the Easter holidays I don't think it is particularly out of season. The phone signal is awful and no wifi in the caravan. One of the days wasn't a 'beach day' due to the weather, so we thought we'd go into the entertainment/restaurant bit to try and get on the wifi to find something to do, when we got to the door it was closed, as it didn't open unitl 9am. Which to some guests may be perfect, however, for a 'family friendly' site we'd have thought it may have been open earlier (around 8-8:30am). In the end we drove and found a garden centre not too far away. As a base to stay this holiday park is okay if you plan on being out exploring everyday, don't set your expectations too high otherwise you may be disappointed.

Great caravan for the price. One small issue which we reported when we left was that the en-suite did not open from the inside. Also there was nowhere to hang coats.

Overall was ok we come away feeling a little disappointed in what we thought was going to be amazing wasnt the best outdoor swimming was sat having a cuppa tea and the parasols just went flying and hit me straight on shoulder my friend went to tell the team and no one come out to move all the parasols that was just left and to see if I was ok I was in pain with my shoulder and its been hurting ever since to sleep on. The evening staff in the arcades one lady was just very rude we was trying to walk to get out my partner had a plastic cup in his hand to take with him and she followed him actually going shoo shoo get out with that shoo shop thats so rude. The caravan itself was amazing so clean and lovely overall.

Very varied experience for our first time at this park. We used it more as a base so only really did anything on site on the first night.Plusses:-Most of the staff were friendlyFood was good in the restaurant.Caravan was clean and ready on time (though 5pm check in is a bit late in my opinion).MinusesNo staff to take food orders in the restaurant. You were forced to sign up to and use the app, which was very long winded. The caravan was spacious but the main seating area wasn't that comfortable.Netflix didn't work.Bingo was very fast, I'm not surprised there were so many false calls on the linked games. Also, the minimum ticket size was a strip of 3 at £9 - some people don't want to spend that much.Clubhouse is small, and the entertainment looked to be mostly just the staff doing turns.Shop was located in the sister park, which was a 2 minute drive away, so not easily accessible by foot.Definitely some improvements needed here, so wouldn't rush back.

The chalet was excellent value for money. Spacious and comfortable. There was a lack of information on the hot water heating and microwave and the TV reception was rubbish. The park was basic but the swimming pool was good. It was a split park, which was inconvenient.

Nice site but not near water.Caravan had two faults, went to reception within an hour a man was round and said all done, but the heated towel rail still didnt work. You need a car to get out.burgh castle is a short walk away but no footpath. On the whole the caravan was good value for money. Parking on the grass by caravan for 2 cars. Caravan had a comfortable double bed. The kitchen was well equipped. Heating and hot water was good. On suite was nice touch. 2 toilets. Good size shower. Good size TV which worked well. On the downside, main bedroom lacked any bedside cabinets or socket outlets and no bedside lighting. Living area lacked any cushions so seats became uncomfortable for us after a while.

Barton caravan was spotlessly clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Just a couple of things we thought could improve it - a bigger fridge, we had to shop each day as fridge was tiny. Also the shower floor was slippy. I had to buy a shower mat to prevent an accident.
