Beds too low, upstairs rooms , no sound proofing, like been in caravan with pigeons on the roof , lodge parking, but random persons fishing parking in lodges spaces , gated area , but gates always open , so not very safe, open to public 24hours, no staff on site, other than hot tub guy who came around 9.30 am wouldnt recommend sorry!!!!!

We stayed in Sherwood Lodge. Not the best but not the worst, has a lot of potential to be really nice with some maintenance/cleaning. The location was great, plenty to do in the area and lots of nice pubs & restaurants.Pros:Really spacious lodge with everything you need & a well equipped kitchen. Hot tub is amazing, really big & clean. Temperature not ready on arrival which was disappointing but not the end of the world as I made use of the lovely free standing bath instead. Really nice woodlog burner with complimentary kindling/logs provided for the first night, very cosy in the evenings with a fire going.Netflix is included which is a bonus.Private from the rest of the lodges and a good distance between the other lodges.Cons: No offence intended but not cleaned to a good standard. Duvet covers had stains & hairs on arrival in 2 out of 3 bedrooms. Toilet walls covered in soap scum & residue. Walking barefoot in the upstairs bathroom made the soles of our feet dirty. Dust on all the lamps, wardrobes & most surfaces.Thermostat in the bedroom was broken & displayed an error code the entire time so it was very cold. Raised 1 or 2 other issues with staff on the first night but didnt seem to be any willingness to help or any follow-up the next Morning. Based on this we didnt bother mentioning the broken thermostat or poor cleanliness as it didnt seem likely any assistance would be offered. There are 2 rooms in the lodge that said private & were locked - this made us a little uncomfortable. It is said the CCTV on-site doesnt overlook your private areas but there is a camera opposite the hot tub & one overlooking the back decking which felt very intrusive. Overall a pleasant stay.

Small touches made it extra special, the log fire was a lovely touch.

As mentioned in other reviews the sofas could do with replacing, the support at the back seems weak or even broken

Date of stay: 8th October 2024
great place to stay in a beautiful, peaceful location. A couple of small niggles if I had to be honest, for example the patio doors not opening but these issues were reported on our exit & promises received that each of the little things would be looked into. None of these however would deter us from staying again in the future, nor recommending to others.

Personally we found the beds to be very hard - but this is, as stated, a personal observation. Both settees need replacing.

Lovely setting. Nice spacious accommodation. Few items getting a little old but generally well equipped. Beds were very low and quite small doubles. We had a problem with the shower not draining and it was fixed within the hour.Would definitely recommend.

Lodge in darkness due to lack of tree control. Need lights on in the lodge. No sun on the balcony. Nice woodland setting, but no excuse for not cutting back trees and shrubs to the front. Slippery path due to moss and the front looks a mess.Cleanliness needs attention. Oven not clean. Upstairs balcony not cleaned for a long time. Leaf debris and bird poop on decks and on outdoor furniture. Cloudy hot tub.Maintenance issues. Toilet seats falling off. Deck stairs rotting. In my view, a lovely cabin but sadly, it appears the managing company have lost interest in maintaining it.

Incredibly clean and spacious, fully fitted out kitchen, all appliances in good clean working order. Fab en suites. The ONLY comment I have is to update and change the sofas, they were probably once really comfy but as they are so deep you fall in to the back of them as the stuffing has now worn away. But thats the only negative I have, the whole lodge is gorgeous and quite frankly Id live there if I could haha!

Lots of cobwebs. Decking area should be wiped down more frequently. The upper balcony should be swept.

Only two of us staying in a four sleeper, so the facilities were spot on. Plenty of room and most of what you need in the kitchen.Lakeview is the furthest from the main entrance but gives you additional privacy

Nice big lodge. Hot tub great. Beautiful surroundings. Comfy beds and clean throughout. A bit tired in spots and a nasty smell coming from downstairs double room shower drain - needs bleach putting down regularly - wondered if it was linked to dishwasher drain.

Cabin was lovely and spacious and the log burner was impressive! The location and the park were lovely for a peaceful break away! Hot tub was great ???? would return again in nicer weather. Downsides the beds were rock hard which we found really uncomfortable, the sofas were really warm and dipped at the back alot! When we arrived at the cabin it had a really strong smell like eggs, every window was open on arrival on a really cold day so clearly cleaners knew but it took the whole first day going out buying scented cleaning products and blitzing the cabin to get rid of it. Lastly do not use Naaz the Indian in booklet they delivered out £90 Indian which was really expensive and it came stone cold, we called up and got sorry nothing we can do avoid total waste of money was our last night treat

The cabin could do with a little TLC now, floor looks worn etc... outside wood looking tired and in need of some attention. Excellent location, private, good hot tubs.

Enjoyed our stay but found the lodge in need of new equipment and utensils and general updating
Liz
Fantastic lodge which surpassed expectations. Really nice surroundings and the Park Manager Konor was really helpful and welcoming.
Emma
Our third visit to these lodges and although quite pricey you do get what you pay for. So quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Love these lodges.
Caroline
We stayed in the great barn very well equipped. Lovely place helpful and friendly warden, hot tub checked every morning.
Jen
We had an excellent stay m, the only down side is the balcony is mostly shaded, only between 5/7 pm dud the balcony get any sun, and this was at the very end of it, far away from the hot Tub which was entirely shaded.
William
Excellent in every way
Neil
Loved it, been before and it’s very quiet and peaceful, will definitely be going back
Carl
Amazing lodge with great views
Daniel
Great location and peaceful on site. The site is well maintained and looked after. The only thing I could say to make it better is maybe update your sign on the road as it’s very easy to miss when driving on the main road.
Katie
We had a really wonderful stay, would definitely come again
Deryck
Fantastic break in idyllic location. Staff on hand (if needed) but quietly go about their roles in a manner which does not disturb your own peace and quiet.
Kayleigh
What an amazing and relaxing stay I had here with my family, the lodge is beautiful, very clean and has everything you need. We are already looking at dates for our next stay ?
Jacqueline
Amazing stay, lovely cottage, clean, lovely surroundings, relaxing, overall the best experience
Amanda
We loved our stay here and look forward to coming back, very clean facilities, loads to do in the area, very peaceful only downfall was the heating as it was always in full even if we changed it on the settings but didn’t spoil the stay!
Fergus
Very peaceful and relaxing! Great hot tub
