We stayed in a rustic VIP pod for a long weekend. The pod itself was nice - there is a lovely little kitchen area, a cute little bathroom, a comfy double bed but very uncomfy sofa bed. The hot tub was ok - we knew before going that it was a log burning one, but didnt realise how difficult it would be to reach and control a nice temperature. It got upto 45 degrees which was way to hot for my husband and daughter (I managed to last until 38 degrees) It would have been lovely to have temperature control.The pod doesnt really need the little table and chairs as it takes up room in the pod, as there is one on the decking outside that could be brought in if you needed one. For us it was just a waste of valuable space that we could have used for our luggage.All of the staff were lovely, friendly & helpful. The pool and arcade areas are small, but theres enough to do around the area to keep you occupied.

The rustic pod wasnt very private in where they are situated to be able to enjoy the quietness of the location as it was right near the electric caravan ports. This may us not use the hot tub as much as we would like due to this.

Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!

Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you!

Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill.

We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people.

The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings.

Such a lovely place to stay in a really beautiful, private location. The owners were really friendly and helpful, nearby if needed but without breaking that sense of privacy. The hot tub was perfect after a day of cycling! One thing to be aware of, the cottage is right under Stansted's flight path, and so there's a lot of aircraft noise. It only took us a couple of hours to get used to it and it didn't spoil our holiday at all, but something to be aware of if you're sensitive to noise.

Lovely friendly owners. Couldnt do enough when the power went down due to the storm. Very well equipped and clean. Very warm cottage. Our dog enjoyed the enclosed outside space and us the hot tub!

A beautiful holiday home set in a lovely rural location. The slated courtyard was perfect and the hot-tub added to the luxury of the property. Great for country walks.

Absolutely everything had been thought of and the accommodation was spot on... The hosts were so friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. A perfect holiday in an idyllic spot! We will definately be booking again!!

The cottage was absolutely fabulous brilliant location really peaceful and relaxing the farm surrounding it was beautiful got to see the horses and the people who own it were really friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a nice quiet break

Very nice cottage. Ideal for a quiet break if you don't mind aeroplanes (at night mostly) as its quite near to Stanstead airport. Hot tub is lovely!

It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!
