Commanding spectacular views across the beautiful South Cornwall countryside from its elevated setting this small cluster of country cottages overlook picturesque Cornish villages.  Garden produce is grown on site and there are plenty of quaint local villages offering a good selection of fine traditional pubs and restaurants.

An ideal base for exploring, Green Acres sits close to St Austell Bay and the secluded beaches at Polkerris and Par. The historic port of Fowey and the world-famous Eden Project are within easy reach.

We highly recommend the Eden Project in St Austell where you can see the biggest greenhouses in the world as well as take part in workshops and listen to story telling.  For a fun and memorable day out then the Porfell Wildlife Park and Sanctuary is less than 9 miles from Green Acres Cottages.  Here you can see some exotic animals and children can enjoy feeding the deer, ducks and chickens.  A little further afield just 12 miles away is the Monkey Sanctuary at Looe where you can see the fantastic work undertaken to promote the survival of primates.

The cottage accommodation is of a very high standard and provides a relaxing base for your stay.  The Green Acres Cottage VIP sleeps 4 or 6 and the Polkeris Cottage VIP sleeps 6.  We love these VIP cottages as they come with private outdoor hot tubs - the ulitimate way to round off a busy day.  All of the cottages come with a stylish widescreen TV/DVD with freeview as minimum.  You can also stay connected with free wifi.  The kitchens are top of the range and include microwave, fridge, freezer and even a dishwasher.

The Monkey Sanctuary

This attraction is really unique in that you have the opportunity to gain a rare insight into a working sanctuary.  You can see first hand all of the fantastic work carried out as well as seeing the monkeys themselves.  Other popular areas of this attraction include the Bat Cave and Wildlife Room. the Wildlife Gardens and the kids play area.  There is something for everyone at The Monkey Sanctuary and you can also sponsor and donate if you wish.  The cost to adopt a monkey is from just £2 a month.

Holywell Bay Fun Park

Holywell Bay Fun Park has been one of South Cornwall's most popular attractions for many years and features a good range of rides for children of all ages. As well as fairground rides and Go- Karts there are plenty of places for family fun including the Maze, Bumper Boats and Lazar Shooting area. If the weather is not great visitors can simply head inside as there are plenty of indoor activities including a large Soft Play Area and a thrilling Climbing Wall. With no entrance fee this park is a good budget friendly option too.

Paradise Park

Paradise Park first opened its doors in Cornwall in 1973 and has been one of the regions top attractions ever since. What was once just a tropical bird garden is now a refuge for many different species of animal and aims to be educational as well as fun for its visitors. The inhabitants include some typical UK creatures including Otters, and Red Squirrels as well as some more unusual and rare animals including Red Pandas. Younger children will enjoy meeting the friendly animals in the farm area. The site has recently been extended and now also has a fantastic Jungle Barn where kids can let of steam.

Flambards Experience Cornwall

A fantastic attraction with something for everyone.  Combining rides, activities and exhibitions it's all here in the one place. Look out for seasonal events too such as the Fire in the Sky event on 27th October 2010 - discount advance tickets are available for most of the events so don't forget to check out their website.  Some of the most popular thrill rides include the first Twisting Droptower in the UK called the Skyraker 001.  The Hornert Rollercoaster is also not to be missed.

Dairyland Farm World

Open from end March to end October this is a lovely attraction suited to families with kids of all ages.  You don't need to worry about the weather either as this is an all weather attraction with the addition of soft play areas and a ball pool for the little ones.  Some of the highlights include the Bull Pen indoor play area, the Raging Bulls Ride, Pat-aPet and the Mini tractors.  Of course there is also the opportunity to get up close to the farm animals and try some bottle feeding.

The Eden Project

The Eden Project is a fantastic local attraction in Cornwall which will appeal to families and couples.  From the moment you step through the entrance it's clear that this is no ordinary attraction.  All under one roof you will find a giant rainforest, Horticulture courses, rock climbing, ice skating and an arts cafe.  Not all of these activities are on at one time, they are staggered throughout the year so check out the website to see what's available when you plan to visit.  Autumn at Eden is very popular with events such as daily apple pressing and Time Changing Tales (story telling with an autumn theme).

Green Acres Cottages Reviews

Date of stay: 19th November 2017
Accommodation type: Green Acres Cottage
We went to green acres as a last minute break because it was close to a couple of places that we wanted to go to and we were very impressed with the overal site that the cottages are on. The swimming pool was very clean and the children's play area was nice. We were also impressed with how clean the cottage was when we got there. If the washing facilities were cheaper or free we would have used them so we didn't have to take dirty clothes home to make it easier when we got there.

A lovely cottage in a great area with a great swimming pool... The only downside would be although kitchen and bathrooms were very clean, the windows needed a good clean and the headboards were dusty (only little things). And maybe leave a dishcloth and washing up liquid with the teatowels etc. They were lovely peaceful cottages, with very modern kitchen and bathroom I would recommend these cottages.

great cottage - great location - very clean - just perfect
Lovely relaxing break
A very enjoyable place to stay so peaceful .definitely will be booking again
Excellent accommodation. Very clean and spacious. Home from home .
The cottage was clean and well appointed in beautiful surroundings. We are looking forward to returning.
Check in instructions were unclear and when I called a lady advised to go to the restaurant as I will be arriving late.... There is no restaurant. After we worked out what we actually had to do, we had an amazing time. Cottages are lovely and place is clean with room for children and dogs to play.
The cottage and location was lovely, however you don’t get to see any staff which can be difficult for questions and check out.

Beautiful views, great accommodation, and close to all the places we wanted to visit
Cottage was clean and well equipped. With own patio and garden furniture. Pool was clean well maintained.
Excellent week, lovely house and surroundings. The pool was superb, kids loved it. Only criticism is that there aren't people on site very often, except on changeover days so was difficult to query things.
