Our group of friends meets up each year to catch up with each other's lives and its something we all really look forward to.
We really loved Hare lodge itself. The facilities and hot tube were brilliant, clean and comfortable and if it wasn't for the hosts we would stay again, consequently, we will not be.
It would be better to provide guests with information on how to check-in pre-stay as it just looks like you're entering a house/land, do not expect to be greeted or taken to the lodge. If you're like us that's not really a big problem. This probably wouldn't have been an issue if we weren't greeted bright and early by the hosts on one day with an aggressive demeanor that seriously lacked customer service, even though it was a mistake on their behalf and we had not done anything wrong. One of our guests had turned up later than the rest and they assumed we had more guests than expected. Perfectly acceptable to question us but definitely not in the way they did, a reaction likely from rule-breaking previous guests. This was my first experience being spoken to by a host in this way and it completely tainted the end of our stay and we will never return to this site. Hosts need training on customer service or a serious contemplation over whether they should be running a customer-facing business if they don't want interaction with clients at all.

We had a lovely weekend stay at Hare lodge. The accommodation was spotless, spacious and comfortable. The surroundings were very peaceful and although the lodge is in the countryside and on a farm, it is also a very short drive to the seaside and Cheddar. The hot tub was a nice touch. The owners provided a really useful information pack which recommended pubs, takeaways etc. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Date of stay: 29th March 2019
The lodge was delightful. We made full use of the spa bath which was clean and well maintained. The lodge is set delightfully in a well manicured field within site of the farmhouse but not on top. The rooms were all spacious, nicely furnished.

If you want a "get away from it all" this is the place. It totally suited our needs and we would love to return.

We had a great time with our friends and their dog there. Lodge is ideal for 5(or 6) people with a pet as it's large enough for everyone to relax at the fire or chill in the hot tub.

Cheddar Gorge and Weston-super-Mare are both within 20-30min drive and are beautiful to explore.
Cheddar Gorge walk is just great, takes about 3h slow walking and has some scenic views.

There's a fire pit/pizza oven that we used. I'd suggest taking skewers since there's no grille on top. We tried the pizza oven and it worked after we had a big fire, but takes a while to cook. Other than that a great BBQ addition we used throughout the stay.

I loved this cottage! Every detail was thought of from the logs for the fire, milk in the fridge to mince pies on arrival. The interior of the cottage is very pretty and of high quality. I couldn't fault anything, it was really good value for money!

Would 100% recommend this absolutely stunning set of lodges. We stayed at Hare Lodge.
A real home from home - everything you could need to make your stay enjoyable including hot tub and wood log burner.

We had no problem with WIFI access. I stayed with my partner and our young adult daughters and son in laws - we all thoroughly enjoyed the stay.

Excellent location for touring locally. We visited Cheddar Gorge and Wells - both beautiful.

We will be going back in the summer and hope to be able to rebook the same accommodation.

We had a really wonderful weekend break here as a family of 6; 5 adults and one 16 year old. Our hosts were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The lodge was clean and extremely cosy, exactly what we wanted for an autumnal getaway. We loved the fire, hot tub, and outdoor fire pit. We struggled to get it hot enough to use as a pizza oven though (despite some helpful advice from our hosts) but this wasnt a problem as we just used the oven in the kitchen. We read some of the reviews before we came regarding the availability of kitchen utensils so we brought a lot of our own with us so this was no problem. The area is very peaceful and we enjoyed the farm setting. The recommendations in the welcome pack were very helpful and we had a lovely blustery walk up Crooks Peak and then a look around Cheddar. We would absolutely recommend staying here as it was everything we hoped it would be. Big thank you to our hosts. The only recommendation we would have to improve the visit is for a later check out time as 10am seemed quite early, though we understand there is cleaning etc to be done in preparation for the next guests.
