Visitor Reviews of Lynmouth Holiday Retreat

Lyn bay lodge was great, a cozy vibe with more than enough storage. The lodge was spotless on arrival, parking next to the lodge and small touches such as dinner placemats. Only few downsides, no hairdryer so would recommend bringing your own, and for the hot tub (which was lovely) there isnt any lights on the side of the lodge which means it was very dark. The lights at the front of the lodge are good but not that helpful when in the hot tub.

Generally good facilities in the two-bed lodge (Lyn Bay) and very spacious. Our only problem was that because it was a new lodge, it didn't appear to have everything we would expect for a premium lodge. The following were not present: clothes airer, teapot, cafetiere, waste bins in bathrooms, bedside lamps in twin bedroom, two bedside lamps in main bedroom (only 1), instructions for appliances. Wi-Fi signal too weak to connect so "smart" TV features not working. Would also be helpful to have an information pack eg details about on site catering, recycling etc. Still recommended though.

The site is situated in an amazing natural beauty area, great to walk and explore the outdoors. On site is definitely geared to camping. The staff go above and beyond, and couldn't fault them. The East Lyn van felt a little dated, the finish was poor, gaps in the kitchen worktop, blinds that don't work, gaps in the front door. There are no shower mats so difficult to shower then use the toilet without wet feet each time. Would stay again but with lower expectations regards the van itself. Definitely worth the visit for Lynton and Lynmouth, Woolacombe Beach, Quince Honey Farm and Combe Martin Dinosaur World.

Except for the beds which were far to soft for us, we loved everything about our vacation. The camping site is small (as expected) but superbly maintained and the staff was more than helpfull. The perfect pitch for exploring Cornwall. We loved to stay and can recommend it to everybody.

the caravan is an older model but it was pleasant and comfortable. we had issues with the shower, the shower bar/rail was very loose/hanging off...but was fixed immediately on reporting. the shower tray was very slow in draining and almost overflowed, but again was immediately fixed on reporting...no further problems with the shower.the views were amazing from the living room window.the fridge was a tad on the small side, but we managed.there were no baking trays in the oven but there were pyrex dishes.a lovely, traditional very comfortable caravan, would definately stay again.

Well fitted van. There were a couple of marks on the walls and door that should have been picked up on cleaning. Also they supply washing up liquid but no hand sanitizer in bathroom.Tv reception played up a bit, but i wasnt there to watch telly

We had Malmsmead, and it was clean and tidy, and we had no issues. Having said that, the Wi-Fi and tv signals were a bit flakey, and the single beds really are for children size!

Brilliant & cosy cottage far enough out the way to be secluded but close enough to local amenities. Amazing hotub & bathroom with underfloor heating throughout tops it off. The owners, Rob & Sharon are wonderful! (And of course Bonnie) Will definitely be coming back again for longer ASAP!!
Emma
Beautiful cottage with hot tub and log burner. lovely hosts, peaceful, perfect for our mini break. Hope to return for longer soon!
Phoebe
Really well equipped house, lovely and warm too which was so nice on a rainy December day! Bath was just lovely and a nice big shower! The property is under a flight path - this did not disturb us at all! Dont be put off! A great location for dogs who hate fireworks as it's in the middle of nowhere. Really beautiful, well converted property. Thank you!
Andrew
It was everything we wanted for our weekend away and we loved staying here. We'll definitely be back! Our pups absolutely loved the underfloor heating and had so much fun in the garden. In fact Luna came home with a strained tail and according to the vet it was because she was wagging it so much over the weekend!! Very happy pups and hoomans!
Simon
Lovely cottage. Great location for us. Away from the hustle and bustle. Great hot tub . Lovely helpful non intrusive owners. They have it just right!
Brooke
Absolutely loved how well maintained and equipped this cottage is. Plenty of dog walks right on the doorstep. Very friendly host, they were so efficient and communication was excellent. We enjoyed meeting the animals on the farm and the very curious pig penelope. Perfect escape for us and the doggos. Will definitely be back, brilliant value!! Highly recommend.
Libby
Beautiful property, spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable, had a fabulous break, hot tub amazing x
James
Very kind and considerate owners. Couldnt be better. Enormously helpful and extremely pleasant. Charming half-timbered cottage with a great strong shower, cosy kitchen & living room combination and very comfortable bed. Fantastic parking directly next to the rented cottage. Well heated and very charming, and spotlessly clean. Great walks across the fields to the local village of Thaxted and of course within easy travelling distance of the village, replete with half-timbered houses and windmill.
Annemieke
We had a wonderful time in Goddard Mead. The cottage was very complete and there were walks on the doorstep. The welcome and stay was very warm. The owners are lovely people.
Carol
The owners Rob & Sharon, have gone to a great deal of work to sympathetically convert this historic building & we couldn't have had a warmer greeting from them both & of course Bonnie. Goddard's Mead has everything you need for a relaxing and comfortable stay. The location is in a great area of Essex and would recommend taking the time to wander around Thaxted and other villages/towns nearby to discover it's fascinating history & buildings.
