Visitor Reviews of Monkey Tree Holiday Park

Shocking!! We paid over £2,000 for a week away in a caravan!! The place looked amazing online so we were excited for a staycation. The area its in is perfect as its close to beaches, pubs and shopping, the site however is awful! Upon arrival I was charged £35 for my second car, and told its £5 per day, however in my confirmation email it said I would be charged £18.75. There is no Wi-Fi (it said in my confirmation email we would have Wi-Fi in our caravan) you can access the free Wi-Fi in the main clubhouse (but this is turned off at night) and is hit and miss if you can use it as so many trying to connect. You can pay £20 for a weeks access to the chargeable internet but was told this very rarely works properly and doesnt reach the caravans so would be a waste of money. We stayed in an 8birth caravan and the bed in the living room was shocking! The mattress was non existent we ended up not even putting the bed up and just sleeping on the sofa! The caravan did smell clean and fresh on arrival and there was ample cutlery etc. the varanda was nice but would be better with a gate to stop small children or pets (many people had their dogs with them) from escaping. Everywhere is cash free (no where online states this!) apart from the arcade and laundrette, the shop sometimes accepts cash but depends if the tills are working. The food is pricy and its rubbish we got food in the club house the first night and it was the worst £123 I have ever spent, it was all frozen food just shoved on plates. Drinks are expensive £4.50 for a watered down coke! We where apparently meant to be given a welcome pack but never received one. The kids/evening entertainment (family bingo/adult bingo) is in an outside shelter, you have to get there at 4 to even have a chance of getting any sort of seat. The inside clubhouse also has evening entertainment but again get there at 4 for a table and its so loud if you do wanna have a chat and eat dinner in there think again because you have to shout to be heard. The facilitys are all clean and maintained which is good for the campers. In all I do not think this holiday was worth what we paid, we stayed up the road in white acres a couple of years ago at a fraction of the price and the caravan was out of this world for what we paid and amazing for the children. I wouldnt not stay here again or recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic deal on a great sized family caravan on a lovely site with lots of green and things for children. Good location for exploring Cornwall. It was quiet on site when we went (September) so The Clubhouse would be almost empty in the evenings, but we still had fun and our 3 year old even had her first go at karaoke. All of the staff were friendly and the food was great. Would love to go back.
