Date of stay: 27th March 2024
We had a great few days away at White Cross Bay. Conveniently situated. The bus stop just outside the park is great too. The Windermere Lodge had everything we needed. I think it could do with a deep clean as the chairs in the lounge were looking a bit worse for wear. Also the lodge is quite close yo the main road and right next to the play area which was ok at thus time of year but could be a problem in school holidays. Overall though a great park conveniently located to lots lovely lake district walks.

Good sized caravan. Bed needs new mattress and think all the mattresses should have mattress protectors on them but overall very happy.

Caravan was a nice space for what we paid for, was happy with what we had- TV signal very poor but when in the lakes we know its not guaranteed. No wifi in caravan or phone signal but same again know its not guaranteed. Some cobwebs etc around caravan and a large stain on mattress, apart from those everything else was clean.

Camp very nice staff friendly. Caravan sofas very uncomfortable. Floor in caravan was sticky with sugar on it in kitchen area. Instead of complaining I thought I'd give it a wipe and to my horror floor wasn't just sticky but filthy too. I own my own caravan and rent it out so I do know the level of cleanliness it should have quite disappointed ????

Date of stay: 24th July 2020
Beautiful lodge. Great location on site. High standard of decor. The third bedroom however is small and the bed is a small three quarter size double. Ok for our two grandchildren but too small for two adults. No spare pillows in any rooms. That was the only fault as everything else was perfect.
Mike, Brighton
Date of stay: 18th July 2020
Just one area of concern with regard to COVID. Waiters were not wearing face masks when taking food to table. And were talking to each other and visitors with food directly below mouth. This should not be happening.
David, Consett
Date of stay: 17th July 2020
Gave 5 for furniture/ fittings. This was mainly down to the mattresses they were too hard for the whole party. A kitchen unit door was hanging off but reported and fixed very quickly .

Overall comfortable, clean and pleasant. Insufficient shelving in en-suite bathroom and place to put clothes in bedroom. Fridge shelves missing and needed cushions on settees. All minor details.

Date of stay: 2nd March 2020
We were slightly mis-lead when booking this lodge as we were under the impression wed have a hot tub, the advert specified certain accommodations Would have one but there was nothing to say that brathay - Pron. (bray-thay) Lodge wouldnt come equipped with one.
On arrival we spoke to staff at white cross bay as we assumed theyd given us the wrong lodge and they explained that it had been a very frequent occurrence over the last 2-3 weeks that people thought brathay lodge had a hot tub.. to clarify brathay lodge at white cross bay is lodge only!! Confusion has occurred because a private owner has also named his lodge, brathay lodge and when searched on google, the majority are pictures of HIS lodge.
After the initial disappointment we settled into our lodge, it was cosy although a little bit of a draft came through the main doors. Full central heating was available and a full working kitchen inc. cooker, grill, fan oven, fridge freezer and dishwasher (please note you will need to take your own cleaning equipment like washing up liquid and dish washer tablets)
Dining table, pots and pans, cutlery, plates and cups/glasses were also available for us.
Overall a great experience after minor issues were resolved, staff were really friendly and we absolutely would return!

The caravan was clean and comfortable. It was lacking in hooks to hang wet jackets etc however and the dining table was far too big for the space and got in the Way!

Nice comfortable caravan - a lovely Autumn break away....we were lucky with the Lake District weather (for once) and this certainly helped. We would go back to this site as we love the area.

Date of stay: 8th November 2019
The lodge was very nice, well equipped and a lovely position, our first night the mattress was very uncomfortable with the springs sticking up into us, in the morning we turned it over the soft topping was underneath, we had a look at the twin beds they where also the same. Once we had done that the bed was very comfortable making everything really good.
