Good points - the location is beautiful, the park is located on Bassenthwaite Lake and the views are incredible, such a lovely location to explore the Lake District from. The staff (namely one of the receptionists and the Park Manager, Andy) were very helpful and acted on negative feedback very quickly. The hot tub was lovely, even if not that hot. Bad points - the cleaning was nowhere near good enough. We walked into the lodge on the first night to an overwhelming smell of dog urine, on closer look I found 2 patches in the living room, 2 patches in the hallway and a patch in the twin bedroom of stale, dried dog urine. As much as I appreciate a dog friendly cabin is going to smell of dog, this shouldnt be urine. The smell was very strong and I pinpointed it immediately, so Im not sure how the cleaners didnt. Furthermore, the cleaning standard in general was poor. The bathroom was dirty with grime around the shower, bath and sink, the blinds were covered in mould in both bathrooms and the curtains were filthy as they were way too long and dragging on the floor. The lodge could do with some investment, mouldy, old, broken laminate, bulbs blown, mattresses springy and uncomfortable and in generally need of a little money to be spent on it to get it up to scratch. Such a shame as I couldnt fault the location and helpfulness of the staff.

Nice lodge outside space taken over by hot tub, would have been bit tight for 4 adults to sit outside!!Cant fault bedding & towels immaculately white & clean. Do think lodge could do with bit better clean found lots of dust & cobwebs but saying that had great time.

A great lodge and hot tub. Very well maintained and well equipped apart from a clothes horse which would have been handy to dry our swimwear after going in the hot tub.

Date of stay: 17th July 2024
An absolutely beautiful location, worth it just for that. The lodge was nice especially the hot tub. And even though it was luxury for a lodge, it does feel a little bit shabby in places, for example, formica curling off worktops, mould in the corners of the showers and the cleaning wasnt the best with cobwebs on the ceiling. The kitchen would benefit from a bread knife. But overall it is a stunning place and we would definitely return.

Date of stay: 5th June 2024
The addition of a hot tub was great and the accomodation was comfortable and well equipped with easy access to the lake for Kayaking. The lodge was looking a little tired in places, but this didn't detract from our comfort or our ability to really enjoy the location.

Date of stay: 20th March 2024
A nice lodge equipped with everything needed, two full bathrooms with shower and a double and twin bedroom. The only downside was the size of the outside space with the hot tub taking over a good proportion of the decking. As there were only two of us it wasn't an issue but for four it would be a bit of a squeeze to sit outside comfortably.

What a wonderful few days we had in Grisedale lodge. The special touches of a goody bag, bowls blankets and towels for the dog were lovely as well as the chocolates, fresh milk, fizz and beer for us. The location was stunning and the views from the hot tub were beautiful. We explored Keswick, Ambleside and the local forests during our stay and had a peaceful walk around Bassenthwaite lake. Highly recommend and we will definitely return again soon.
