Beautiful area, cottage in a quiet place. Furniture and fittings , especially the beds need replacing, the worst we have slept on in years. You could feel the springs as we got into bed . The curtains hanging down off the rail, I wanted to put them back on the hooks and tidy it up for them, but not enough hooks. The oven and utensils were unclean. However; there were plenty of white goods, washer dryer fridge and freezer. Heating that worked. The lodge felt like we had travelled back in time and needed updating to how cottages are nowadays.

We had an excellent weeks holiday from 24.9.18 -1.10.2018 at Bluebell lodge, Heartsease lodges, we had the relaxing break we wanted, there is no wi fi connection, and you find it hard to get a phone signal, but if you want a relaxing break away this is the ideal place, nice and peaceful , thats what we wanted, all things in the lodge just what we wanted, i did take sofa covers with us and put them on the sofas there as they were leather sofas and i did not want my 3 yr old springer spaniel dog ruining leather sofas, and best to be safe than sorry!, the bed was not that great, i suffer with back problems so we sleep on thier duvet and took our duvet with us and had that on top of us and that was fine, im allergic to feathers , so took my own duvet, the garden was wonderfull, first place we have been to where its been fully enclosed , which was wonderfull for patch our dog, he loved the garden, the hot tub was wonderfull, went in there almost daily, took patch out for a walk first, tired him out, placed him in the crate we brought with us and he was ok in there while we relaxed in the tub, had a problem with the cooker hob, we had to ask mark how to use it, once he showed us we managed that ok, found the instruction book in a drawer a few days after we arrived there! we went to the lake near tesco superstore with patch, fed the ducks and walked patch there, they got lots of green areas there too and a play park for the kids if you have any to take to a park, weather was wonderfull all the time we were there for our break away, it was summer weather, managed to dry things on the washing line which was provide, even provided pegs! although i did bring my own!! so that was wonderfull, nice that everything is there for you, washing machine, tumble dryer, they had a lovely new shower in the bathroom, all in all a wonderfull break away and we would book there again, safest place for our patch, and he enjoyed the garden a lot, came home exhausted our patch did!!

Date of stay: 15th December 2017
for me this was just the break I'd wanted. An excellent holiday for real tranquillity. A proper chance to take yourself away from the hustle and bustle of the outside world and truly relax in beautiful surroundings. Due to the severity of the snow I wasn't able to visit some beautiful little towns nearby but was more than happy to walk around the local area taking in the breath taking views on the odd occasions cabin fever set in. The remoteness of this Lodge does need to be taken into account especially if possibly staying in bad weather. The Lodge was really warm and cosy throughout my stay, which was certainly needed during early December. It was beautifully furnished and had a number of lovely unexpected finishing touches such as fresh eggs & shortbread biscuits. Having travelled to and from the Lodge in very bad snow the Lodge owners were available to help me get to and from the main road up to the Lodge in such bad conditions. They really do couldn't do enough for which I really am grateful. My only reasons for down marking on the overall rating is the due to the fact the shower appeared quite old and really didn't work that well and the kitchen was quite limited in utensils and cooking dishes. This does however seem petty when I consider what a truly amazing week I had in the most amazing of surroundings. I would most definitely recommend Heartsease Lodges to friends, family and others and would love to think I will return in the very near future.

A lovely log cabin set in a quiet peaceful location. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for a few days of chilling. Beds were made up for our arrival and clean towels were provided. The chemicals in the hot tub were checked daily. All in all a lovely place to stay if you want to get away from everything.
