Fun Days Out in Gwynedd

Treasure Island Fun Centre is situated in the Anglesey area of North of Wales and there is really no better place to take children on a rainy day. The fantastic all weather attraction features a huge array of slides, chutes, climbing frames, ball pools and mazes. Energetic kids can really let of steam while the grown ups can relax in the cafe with a drink and a snack. There are separate areas four younger children to play safely, so no one is left out of the fun.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

cannot wait to return. Would recommend this to anyone looking to get away from it all for a few days. Car is essential as it is quite away from everything but that is the beauty of it.

We stayed in Glaslyn Lodge and found our stay pretty much perfect. The lodge was clean and tidy. It had everything we needed. I have a couple of small niggles. They would be a huge crack in the bathroom sink but that's clearly expensive to replace and the internal doors creaking and being difficult to close. This isn't great when you're sneaking about when a 3 year old is in bed! Apart from that we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay and will be back asap. Its a stones throw from Criccieth. Very easy to find. Carol who looked after us was very helpful and also left us to our own devices which was great. I only got to use the hot tub once due to bad weather. Unfortunate!

Lodge was clean and spacious, only down fall, found a leak under the sink, but owner promptly checked this out. Hot tub was relaxing.

Such a lovely place - loads to do and really family friendly
Really enjoyed the holiday at Bron Eifion lovely place in a beautiful place. Lodges were lovely and well equipped for our needs. There is a big fishing lake which is the reason we booked and have booked again for next year. My husband and two grand children who live with us came with us and they all fish my grand son is just learning to be a fisher man at moment but was very happy at 14years old with the holiday. Have to rely on phone internet which ours was in and out on site but didn’t bother us as we like to escape to the countryside apart from busy towns and city’s and relax. Lots of lovely walks around the area to walk the dogs and they were very happy as country dogs not town dogs. Owners were very helpful when we arrived and on hand if we needed them. Very relaxing holiday.
We loved place especially two very friendly cats who decided to live with us during our stay 😊 Owner very helpful and lovely. We liked set up around lake. If you are expecting luxurious place this is not place for you but if you want to stay somewhere where is nice and quiet with hot tub so you can relax - than you will enjoy it.
Absolutely enjoyed the scenery and the people were so friendly
It was a lovely place the hot tub was nice but to much clurine in the tub
Cannot wait to return. This is one of the most peaceful breaks we have ever had. Beautiful view of lake from cabin. A perfect way to de stress in this quite away from it all location. very friendly staff on hand as soon as we arrived.
Lovely place and helpful friendly people. Only one little niggle and that's that the walk round to the hot tub was on the driveway unsheltered but everything else was great
Beautiful surroundings. Helpful and friendly staff Carol and Kevin made us si welcome. The fishing is excellent and the lodge was warm, spacious and comfortable. Ideal place if you love fishing. We will be back.
Lovely setting and great people very welcoming would love to return again next year
