Fun Days Out in Gwynedd

Treasure Island Fun Centre is situated in the Anglesey area of North of Wales and there is really no better place to take children on a rainy day. The fantastic all weather attraction features a huge array of slides, chutes, climbing frames, ball pools and mazes. Energetic kids can really let of steam while the grown ups can relax in the cafe with a drink and a snack. There are separate areas four younger children to play safely, so no one is left out of the fun.

Penrhyn Castle is a neo-Norman castle is located in the stunning Gwynedd region of Wales. The castle will appeal to those who enjoy sites of historical interest as well as to families looking to enjoy a fun day out. The Castle is in very good condition and guided tours are on offer. Don't miss a look at the grand hall with its exquisite collection of paintings or the Victorian Kitchen which gives amazing insight into the running of the Castle. Other highlights include the Servants Rooms and the one ton slate bed which was originally made for Queen Victoria.

This attraction is really something special and has reached the finals of the "Best Family Day Out" category in the National Tourism Awards for Wales.  It's actually the only attraction in North Wales to be shortlisted for this prestigious award. Located in the Snowdonia region there are many rides and activities including Jungle Boat Adventure, Den Building, Green Dragon Roller Caoster, Treetop Towers and the BareFoot Trail.  Kids of all ages will love it here and we think it's excellent value as well.

Located in the North of Wales with a spectacular setting high above Colwyn Bay this is a lovely zoo which makes an excellent family day out.  Highlights include the Chimp Encounter, Penguin Parades, Bear Falls and the Children's Farm.  The setting is perfect for walking around and you can take in the superb scenery, roam the wooded pathways and relax on the grassy slopes.  There are many rare and endangered species to see and learn about including the Snow Leopards and the Red Pandas not to mention the Sumatran Tigers. You can also buy the experience of being a zoo keeper for a day, either for yourself or as a gift.

The lodge was beautifully furnished and well equipped with a washing machine and dish washer if you wished to use them, it was positioned on slightly higher ground than the lodges in front so we had an excellent view of the boats coming and going in the marina. There was also a large flat screen TV with built in DVD player. This was a 6 birth lodge with 1 double and 2 twin bedrooms so there was plenty of sleeping space, but I felt that any more than four in the lounge area would have been a squeeze and in fact one occupant would have been sitting on a dining chair if you all wanted to stay in and watch TV or a DVD, however for the 2 of us it was very comfortable indeed.

We stayed at Gimblet Rock for 3 nights at the end of April. Our lodge was superb. Furnishings and fittings were excellent and the view over the harbour was amazing. We could have stayed much longer.

Great! Like it!

Gimblet rock is superbly located on it's own headland trapped between the marina and the Irish sea. many of the lodges and caravans have sea or marina views and there is a backdrop of the distant mountains of the Snowdonia national park. The park is well positioned for exploring the north wales coast and the national park and there are beaches nearby if you just want to relax. I wont go into all the on park facilities but I must say for a park of this High standard I wasn't tempted to use the restaurant as it looked very basic and uninviting. when we arrived we were asked to leave our credit card details with an option to take £100 security deposit in case of any breakages or damage to the lodge which I think is an excellent idea, but for my own peace of mind I insisted they send someone around on the day of our departure to check the lodge and sign to say there was no damage done which they were very happy to do, indeed the lady who came to check the lodge could not have been more friendly and gave us a glowing report. I will definitely be going back to gimblet rock.

beautiful caravan thought it hadn't been used was so clean everything you needed was avalible a very comfatable bed and a bonus towels were supplied and a welcome pack and lovely swimming pool and a gym. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The site is near the train station and town and a very short walk to the beach will defiantly be back.

Absolutely fabulous accommodation! We could not believe our eyes, spotlessly clean and amazing facilities. On arrival which we arrived after 7pm on Friday evening I was helped by such a friendly helpful man at reception. He showed us where we were staying on the map of site and we couldn't believe how fantastic our accommodation was infact I was convinced that someone would come and tell us your in the wrong accommodation and move us! The site is lovely and quiet with a beach right next to the site. We didn't get chance to use the pool etc as my daughter was competing all weekend at the British Downhill Mountain Bike Race. However we will definitely be going back to Gimblet Rock and I would like to say a massive thank you to all the team because we had a fabulous stay with you. Your cleaning staff are first class and the use of the laundry 24/7 with no tokens to insert just pound coins was ace especially with dirty biking gear. However I then spotted not just a dishwasher in our accommodation but a washer/dryer and 2 bathroom facilities was ace. WELL DONE YOU GUYS from extremely happy customers.
Bridget
